「The rooms were very clean and nice. We were very warmly welcomed and the staff was always friendly and very helpful. Very tasty breakfast. Highly recommended. The beach was very close. Everything here was beautiful in nature. A whole cabanna to yourself with many things to use.」

「I left my heart in Talalla Retreat. Incredible staff who were so welcoming and hard working, the Retreat itself is stunning. I had an upstairs bedroom so was able to fully enjoy the surroundings. The food was incredible. I felt super safe. I didn’t want to leave. A must visit - and please do as the Sri Lankan people need visitors right now. 」

It really is the best hotel on Mawella beach (and maybe even in whole of southern province :) The hotel is beautifully and tastefully decorated, the staff are super friendly, including owner Xander, it's absolutely right on the beach , the food is great. What more to say, it's a little peace of heaven :) 」

「Stayed in Nila balcony room. Spectacular view, beautiful room. Nice pool. Nila room has a bit more privacy than others as it is on second floor. Friendly and very professional staff. Perfect for a few days of romantic getaway. Sea is swimmable but can be rough, requires caution and would not recommend swimming in the sea for kids. No alcohol can be bought on premises, wine shop about 500m away, easy walk. Can store wine or beer in common fridge.」

「Overall stay was good. However, the bathrooms are visible inside the room. Not recommended for a family to stay inside the room. I kindly suggest to put up curtains or a blurred glass to have privacy. Also, the balconies are connected to each room with a sliding door which is kind of unnecessary i feel. If it can be locked then it's manageable. But in our case the sliding doors could not be locked. The breakfast was superb. Had plenty of varieties. For lunch we had nasi goreng and it was...
