The layout and the atmosphere inside the hotel was phenomenal. Excellent customer service. Keith and Amy went above and beyond and really made us feel welcome. They tried to accomodate our different schedule as well when they didn't have to and really took the time to speak with us. They added a great quality to the stay.

The property was absolutely beautiful and very spacious for our family of four. The hot bath was a treat, especially since I have a lot of tattoos and don't want to offend locals in an onsen. (I know there are tattoo-friendly onsens, but I couldn't find any in the area we were staying.) The breakfast was a delicious spread of vegan cuisine. The washer/dryer was essential for our visit. Five stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was a perfect place to experience Japan. It had traditional Japanese accomodations and food but also with many high tech conveniences. The staff was very helpful in getting us taxis to easily visit locations like the imperial palace or the Bamboo Forest. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wishes to have a great experience in Kyoto.

An absolute gem in Kyoto! We had a perfect stay here. The apartment is beautifully curated with a modern traditional Japanese aesthetic. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The indoor garden in the shower area was a spectacular touch. The location is unbeatable—walking distance to Gion and Nishiki Market, surrounded by fantastic dining options, and close to public transport (metro and buses). Note: The stairs are a bit steep, so just watch your step. Excellent communication...

This is a very authentic machiya experience: tatami floors, futons rolled out on the floor, a deep soaking wooden tub, a historic building (it used to be a sake brewery). The machiya is in outstanding shape--cleanliness, modern amenities (wifi, AC, Japanese bidet). (Note that part of the authenticity means no western beds, a steep traditional staircase up to the second floor, and the primary seating is also on tatami mats, so for those with mobility disabilities, it might not be the best...

Our stay at Ieno house was such a great experience. The staff was very polite and kind to explain about amenities and also there is an English manual on how to operate all the electronics. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. I would highly recommend this place.

Owner was responsive even before we showed up. Told us how to get there. Very flexible with check-in time. Waited for us at the property. Check-in was easy and informal. The place was better than the internet pictures. It's basically a fully functional home. Two stories, 2 BR, 1.5 BA, open kitchen with living room. Next door to a family mart (currently renovating, but a 7/11 is 2 min away) 1 min walk to Nijojo-mae subway station. 2 min from a local shopping strip(3 brothers bakery opens...

So authentic! Easy to get around wialking, taxi. Great access to station in Kyoto and amazing breakfast at the Wanderer and Scene Factory Coffee close by! Get the Hot Chocolate at scene - it's to die for!!

This townhome was the highlight of our stay in Kyoto. It's located in an old residential neighborhood with an abundance of charming cafes, restaurants and stores on every block. The streets are quiet and walkable, with more bicycles to avoid than cars. But it's still centrally located, walking distance to a major subway stop and Niho Castle and the Imperial Palace. The selling point of this property is the sauna and outdoor baths. We didn’t end up using the sauna (it was 90 degrees outside) so we simply enjoyed the two baths. It was nice to do a load of laundry in the middle of our trip and while we only made tea, the kitchen was convenient and useful for folks staying longer. It’s a short walk to the station and close to many things. The house is very charming and would be perfect for a family.

My husband and I are 23F and 24M from the States. We loved our stay here! Beds were very comfortable, foot bath was amazing, and everything was very clean and nice. It was great having a washing machine, dishes, and many toiletries that most places don’t offer. Also, the host held our luggage after checkout since there was not anyone checking in that evening I assume, which was very nice! Not a big issue, but one thing I would recommend is adding another mirror. Maybe a full length one or one...

Quite and calm stay

Had an amazing stay. Quiet neighborhood within walking distance of many top spots.

Our stay in Kyoto at the Resi Stay was wonderful. We were able to send some of our luggage ahead, and it was waiting for us at the check-in counter across the street from the train station, which is where you check in. We stayed in 1F and it was huge and very quiet, and it had laundry. We loved exploring Kyoto from this location, as it's so close to a very cute part. We only wish we made a better plan for seeing the rest of Kyoto. It's big and spread out.
