「This was a wonderful experience, very friendly staff who were always ready to help, offering glasses of chilled water in the spacious and well-furnished public rooms and alcohol in the evenings. We stayed in the large Shakespeare room, often used as a Bridal Suite. The spa is great, with a good sized pool, a jacuzzi and unusual sauna. Really good breakfasts served in bedrooms and at the nearby sister-hotel Milsoms. The fine dining at the main restaurant on the nearby River Stour was sublime,...

「The Marlborough is a pub with tasty food and about five rooms for overnight stays. The staff is outstanding and does everything possible to be helpful. It is on a central street of a very small town, so it can be a bit noisy during the day and early evening, but is quiet at night. The rooms have nice versions of all the basics, including a good bed and excellent shower. There are few extra amenities beyond the room and pub, although the breakfast was very good. 「Room comfortable and quiet no aircon and very warm so kept window open. Reception friendly and efficient. Swimming pool area very good - cushions on loungers getting a little tired. Restaurant excellent service and food. Coping with large groups in other rooms didn't affect service. Breakfast area well stocked. Only complaint was one of the staff in the breakfast area taking fruit from the plates with his fingers - several times for his own breakfast.」
