「The property was clean and spacious and a short walk to downtown St. Joe.」

「We wanted something that was walking distance to downtown and the lake. This property gave both. We were able to walk to different parts of the lake from this property and easy walking to the main downtown/ Martine Museum. There is a full kitchen with most supplies. The layout of the place was nice as well. The bridge that goes over the Black River is right outside and it didn’t affect our sleeping. I even brought ear plugs just incase and never used them. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay....

I will say that there must not have been recent guests before us because we saw a lot of dust and cobwebs on the windows and room fans, but we cleaned it up as needed. The walk to the beach was much further than we anticipated, thankfully our 4 year old is always up for an adventure as the path down and pack up is extremely steep. 「I think a lot of the negative reviews are unwarranted. It was clean and had plenty of room for the 6 of us (plus dogs). The house is old and you need to use the window AC units, but it was fine and stayed cool all day. The prices are 1/2 that of other properties in the area. The house is a few minutes away from the beach. It is a duplex, but we never had an issue with the neighbors. The only bathroom is on the top level and up a flight of steep steps. It may not good for elderly people or people...

「The condo was well maintained with all of the necessary amenities. The location was ideal, as it was walking distance to downtown (maybe a 10 minute walk), but also right on the beach. It's close enough that you can hear the waves at night from the master bedroom. We ended up on the deck watching the sunset each evening and it was perfect.」

The fact that it was 2 bed/2 bath, made for lounging with a huge sectional and a large tv, located in the middle of it all, and is a sophisticated reimaging of an historic school sealed the deal.
