"The building and estate make a strong first impression. The grounds look impressive and well maintained. The setting also suits weddings, conferences, and private events. With the right investment in staff training and stronger service standards, the property holds strong potential as a venue for larger functions. During the first evening of my three night stay, I ordered fish and chips at the bar. The fish arrived raw in the middle. I informed the staff and they prepared another portion. The replacement meal arrived properly cooked, yet the service style differed. The first plate arrived with knife and fork only, with no napkin. The second arrived with utensils wrapped in a linen napkin and staff offered extra condiments. This difference in presentation created an inconsistent service experience. The room was clean and met a standard layout. It included a desk, television, and ironing facilities. The steam iron showed wear and the water canister cover was missing. This raised concerns about routine checks of in room equipment and overall maintenance. The bathroom was functional but basic. A shaving or swing arm mirror would improve usability. Breakfast included a typical English breakfast along with granola, cereals, and bread options. The selection remained the same each morning. For a three night stay, a small rotation or variation would improve the experience."

"Parking was secure and Hotel very good. Lovely rooms only one comment. There was no where you could plug your hairdryer in near a mirror so you could see what you were doing."

"Had a great stay atvyhe Hurtwood. Found it by chance. Great village with plenty of walking direct in to the Surrey Hills as directed by the lovely lady who checked us in. Room very comfortable with fresh milk provided. We found the car park easy for a big car, but would not be so easy in season I think. Dinner in the bar was excellent and good portions. Breakfast cooked to order also great. Will go again. Thank you."

"The Manor House is old and lovely but for winter months is it very cold and very damp fromWindows we was freezing The kitchen and dining area described as outside dining is freezing The bathrooms and toilet system over flowed and leaked response from host lots of toilet paper we booked this size house as 12 people accommodate I don’t feel it was excessive use and people should be able to use the toilet and wipe Leaks upstairs sink soaking carpet we had to put towels down Constant dripping from the showers host complained boiler usage again 12 people staying for 12 days in the rent if we wish to shower 4 times a day we can who knows if the leaking taps shower was constantly hot Lights he complained lights left on we left a couple as was working our event and was dark very dark when returned so left on for guidance apparently this is not allowed when rent the accommodation We also feel the owner was in the home when we was not around and we felt uneasy he constantly gave an excuse why he had to enter when we was not in This accommodation is not for extended stay and 12 people in winter some of us worked during the day from the house and that was an issue Swimming pool is a walk it outside along the drive over another most bridge it is not attached to the Manor House that is rented no use at all in winter months The access road of the main road is terrible pot holes what are dangerous and could cause tyre damage also no lighting so becareful "

"The staff were very friendly, loved the history of the place. a few things could do with a bit more love, but staff told us there were plans for a spa etc. So would think about a re visit in a year in the summer."
