Chac Mol Cenote

My wife and I recently stayed at this property in Cancun, and while there were some positives, we ultimately rated our experience a 2/5. The staff were excellent—friendly, professional, and attentive throughout our stay. The property itself was also beautiful, clean, and well maintained, with the pool area being the highlight for us. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the food. To put it bluntly, we thought it was beyond bad. We tried multiple dining options hoping to find something we enjoyed, but the quality was consistently disappointing and nowhere near what we expected from a resort at this price point. We were also surprised by how little there was to do beyond relaxing at the pool. The clientele seemed to skew older, and while there is nothing wrong with that, the resort had very little energy or entertainment in the evenings. We weren’t looking for a party resort, but some music, shows, or lively evening options would have made a huge difference. The spa itself was very nice, but the massages were mediocre at best. We spent around $500 and felt the quality did not come close to justifying the price. Overall, the wonderful staff, attractive property, and great pool were overshadowed by terrible food, limited activities, lack of evening entertainment, and an overpriced spa experience. This may be a good fit for someone looking for an extremely quiet vacation, but for us, it was unfortunately a 2/5 experience.
