"The motel has added a “grab and go” breakfast since my last stay and it was a very nice addition. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I ate breakfast at the outdoor seating area everyday (6 days) I was there and was disappointed to see the dirty table and overflowing trash can never addressed during that time. Check in was frustrating as I arrived at 4pm when check in was supposed to be available at 3pm and my room was not yet ready. After killing an hour and going back at 5pm it still wasn’t ready. I had to press for a solution (such as giving me a different room) when the clerk said the time it was taking to get the rooms clean was beyond their control due to a large group of college kids they had hosted the previous week and would have just let me continue to wait had I not pressed for a solution. I was finally given a different room at my insistence but as I spent time walking around the facility later that evening, I was able to observe that the cleaning of my originally assigned room was still in progress at 6:30pm - 3.5 hours after check in was supposed to be available. I feel like the clerk should have been proactive in offering a solution rather than me having to propose possible solutions (such as asking the cleaning staff to jump ahead to my originally assigned room and clean it next or work to offer a different room). Had I not pressed and proposed solutions I would not have gotten into my room until sometime after 6:30pm, when check in was 3pm."
