"Very disappointed to find our rooms didn’t have windows ! This fact was not mentioned when we booked ! Hotel was generally quite “tired”."

"The hotel, breakfast and staff was fabulous however bedroom lacked some basic items/facilities which you would expect in a hotel of this standing such as no bedroom safe for your valuables, no bottled drinking water, no GBnews on the TV. However we are regular visitors to Buxton and look forward to staying at the Crescent Hotel again. "

"What a fantastic holiday home. There were 11 of us over the weekend and 5 of us in the week with ages ranging from 2 to 72. The whole house was spotless on arrival, the beds comfortable, and there are 2 fridges, a wine fridge, 2 freezers and plenty of storage space. The kitchen is well equipped with cutlery, crockery, pots, pans and utensils.The pool was a massive hit, and we enjoyed using it every day. The games room was also a big hit, and we particularly enjoyed playing pool and darts. The cinema room was enjoyed by our grandchildren and also provided another seating area. The adults enjoyed playing games in the upstairs seating area later in the evening as this area has slightly higher seating and a coffee table for games and drinks.We loved the layout of the house, which is quite quirky and the welcome pack on arrival was a nice touch.There is sufficient parking for 3 cars on the driveway, albeit a little tight, and there was some free parking on the road immediately outside the house.We really enjoyed spending time at the house as well as visiting The Pavilion Gardens, Buxton town, Bakewell and Monsal Head and the stunning Peak District countryside.We would definitely return."

"Elegant building, excellent central location, peaceful surroundings, nice views, comfortable bed. One kitchen cupboard was so high that we couldn't reach any small glasses or the cafetiere - had to make do without - even using the steps provided (and we are of average height). Cleaners brought stained towel at changeover day, and left long hairs on our bed when they changed the bedding. But in spite of this we enjoyed our stay."

"It was comfortable, quiet and conveniently located for exploring the area. Comfortable beds, everything one needed in the kitchen, big bathroom and large dining/sitting room. Wasn't keen on open plan bedrooms upstairs, where one could see and hear everything that was said and done in the other bedroom."
