Excellent experience. Very local and authentic Beijing environment, close to everything, a quite Hutong place right next to the famous Nanluoguxiang. The service is great, everyone was kind and helpful, just ask them for help if you need the local travel notes.

This hotel was excellent. We had a wonderful stay here and the staff was top notch — so helpful and courteous! They went out of their way to support us with everything from choosing restaurants nearby, getting transportation and helping to solve any problems that we encountered. One night my daughter accidentally left her phone in a DiDi (local Chinese rideshare app) and as we didn’t speak Chinese, the staff helped us contact the company and the driver to arrange for the phone to be returned that night. Beyond the staff, the room was incredibly clean and spacious, and the amenities were very comfortable. The hotel also provides free afternoon tea service (with snacks) every day, which was always a welcome treat after spending each days exploring Beijing. We will definitely stay here if we ever return to Beijing and highly recommend.

We had a great experience staying at Le Zai Hotel. It's in the heart of the old city. Our room was clean and functional. Staff was amazing, very helpful and attentive. We enjoyed breakfast and tea time there. We would recommend it and would stay there again.

**5-Star Review - Better service than my stay at St. Regis** I must say it was one of the best experiences I've had in my extensive travels across over 40 countries. The warm and personal service I encountered here is truly unmatched. I've stayed at high-end hotels like the St. Regis, famed for its butler service, but the staff here surpassed my expectations. The speed and quality of their responses were phenomenal! A special shoutout to the two ladies who assisted me at check-in—one of whom was named Lily. They made me feel genuinely welcomed. The hotel’s location in Beijing's hutong is fantastic. Given the historical context and limited car access—akin to the charming old towns in Europe—you should not expect the typical high water pressure of a modern hotel. Nevertheless, I believe this unique setting is the perfect way for visitors to explore the area. Not only were the services outstanding (they respond to all of my request via Wechat instantly), but the amenities were also impressive. The hotel offers free coffee and tea 24/7, a free simple breakfast and afternoon tea. Plus, the complimentary laundry service was a great bonus that you typically don't find in international hotels. Honestly, how is this not better than the so-called international name hotels? Overall, this hotel provided an incredible experience that I highly recommend to anyone looking to delve into the culture and warmth of Beijing. A round of applause to the entire team!

Exceptionnel. La gentillesse du personnel, la propreté, l'emplacement. Si vous recherchez un hôtel sur Pékin choisissez celui-ci. Un hôtel avec beaucoup de charme, les chambres sont décorées avec goût, la salle de bain est très grande avec douche et baignoire. Nous avions une chambre en rez de chaussée au calme. L'hôtel possède une grande terrasse pour prendre le petit déjeuner. Tout était parfait, on vous propose même le nettoyage de vos vêtements gratuitement. J'y retournerai avec plaisir.

Le Zai is a beautifully restored Hutong along a very busy and vibrant walking street. Loved the vibes and the staff are extremely helpful and polite. However, there are few watch outs: 1. The property is in the middle of very narrow and busy street so travelling needs to be planned out especially if you have big luggages. 2. The property is tucked inside and behind a bar so there will be crowd outside and you will need to navigate through before reaching the entrance of the hotel. 3. My toilet reeks of sewage smell but luckily we have a bed at the lower floor which made it manageable. Otherwise, all else has been pleasant.

This hotel is a small and very nice authentic hotel. If you want to stay in an authentic environment instead of a big international hotel this is it. The rooms, the terraces and the courtyards are very cosy and give you a feeling of being back in time. The hotel staff are extremely helpful and they speak English. Just a few steps from the hotel you have a long vibrant street with lots of small shops selling all kinds of stuff, and yet the hotel is very quiet. If you are up for a longer walk, it is possible to walk to the forbidden city as well. All in all I loved staying there, and the hotel has my best recommendations.
