Not exactly as advertised

Beautifully appointed home unfortunately situated in a remote area. We did not have a car and there were not many amenities close by. The owner happily accommodated by early check in request.No air conditioning in the bedrooms all located upstairs made for a less than comfortable sleep although the owners supplied fans.No hot tub as advertised. Needed to do laundry but the advertised dryer was locked in the garage and we were told there would be an additional charge for hydro to use it.

Family Holiday

This townhouse was spacious, modern and suited our needs perfectly. It was a home away from home. The townhouse accommodated us very well and was easy to live in for four days as we explored various parts of Auckland.

Host unavailable and expects guests to vacuum

The house is nice (modern, comfortable) but our experience was not. The door key is a complicated electronic entry system. There is a lockbox, but that’s not how you get in. We could not figure it out. We couldn’t find VRBO’s entry instructions and no one was available to help. The hosts were in another country and did not reply. Their local backup was not answering despite us leaving 4 messages. Five hours later, at 1:30am, the local backup responded. By then we had given up and found a hotel room. After a stressful day of travel, the last thing you want is a host that is unavailable. In addition to the regular pre-check-out tidying up that all VRBO hosts ask, these hosts also expect guests to remove the bed linens and vacuum the carpets. The information booklet in the house even insinuates they’ll give you a poor rating if you don’t: “Our rating of you as a guest is based on the following … Place used sheets, pillowcases, towels and facecloths in the bath … Vacuum debris off the floor and carpets”. And this is despite the fact that you’re paying a cleaning fee in addition to the rental fee. Most hosts supply laundry detergent - not these hosts.Parking is challenging unless you have a smaller car. You can’t use the garage, so you have to park at the end of a laneway between the units, then do a multi-point turn when you want to leave.

Nice place to stay

Would have given 5 stars but the main bedroom with ensuite the mattress was very hard . Very clean, good location, modern environment and nice décor. All toiletries supplied , nice touch . Thank you 🙂

Modern, comfortable townhouse

Townhouse was as described, except there was no dryer as listed - 1 small clothes rack for 6 adults made drying clothes challenging in showery weather. Be aware that a full vaccuum is required upon exit. Train/bus station about a 20min walk.

Fantastic, fully equipped 3 bedroom house

This property has absolutely everything you need for a comfortable Auckland holiday. We had 3 adults and 3 kids and the 3 spacious bedrooms with large wardrobes with built in shelving (one room had a desk and chair too), 2 1/2 bathrooms (including fantastic large bath in main bathroom) plus laundry. The kitchen was fully equipped and lots of space for 6 at the dining table and in the lounge too. Off road parking for 2 cars was also appreciated. Only comments were that the property was vape free outside (first time we'd ever come across this!) and we had to wipe showers, empty bins and vacuum as well prior to leaving.

Extremely comfortable property

One of the first things that struck us was how well-maintained the house is. It's evident that the owners take great pride in their property, as every corner is immaculately clean and well taken care of. The layout of the house is both practical and inviting. We had a very comfortable stay.

Clean, modern and roomy

Great base for us to enjoy Auckland while our son competed at the Colgate Games. The house was warm and welcoming and surprisingly spacious - the bedrooms were ideal and it was really good to have three toilets! The only slight issue we had was figuring out the lock on Day 1. Communication was top notch - highly recommend.

Very Nice Property!

Grace was incredibly helpful during our stay. It was a bit chilly some nights so the extra blankets were helpful. Small space heaters may be a nice addition for cold nights/mornings.
