The room was huge! Great view of the canal and red district. The staff was great!!! They are so kind! My booking came with complimentary wine, which was also good. Walkable location. Due to the location, there will be lots of noise until late night. Didn't bother me personally. The bar downstairs is charming.
Amazing staff! So kind and accommodating. Let us check in early without charge and let us keep our luggage there. The place was nice and spacious. Would definitely go back and recommend to others!
Loved staying here. I felt very safe but was in the middle of everything. The bar downstairs was great and we loved sitting outside people watching while enjoying a drink. The staff was very nice and I loved that they had to buzz us in at night.
This is a historic property, not a luxury hotel. But that’s part of what makes it so great. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Great location for walking around town.

The staff is friendly. The room is large. But there is no private bathroom. Outside the window is a boisterous street.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed with our children as it could accommodate 4 in one room. Our room was quiet for being in such a busy area. With kids, good to be aware that this is the red light district. We generally stayed in after about 6 pm, so worked well for us.

Central with perks. If that’s what you want
If you’re looking for somewhere right in the middle of “things” then this is perfect. I wasn’t, but my room was 4 floors up so well away from street noise. Accom was very basic, shared bathroom and shower was adequate. Reception was the bar underneath with very friendly staff. For one night it did what I needed it to do. It was cheap.
Bang in the middle of the red light District but it felt very safe and staff were friendly and helpful. The stairs to the third floor are narrow and the walls are thin, I could hear someone snoring in the room next door. You can also hear voices from the bar downstairs
A fantastic, authentic old hotel in the heart of the Red Light District of Amsterdam. A great bar/restaurant below with the most helpful, friendly staff. They were very accommodating. My traveling companion had a problem with the stairs, so they accommodated us with another room on the lower level. They were helpful in providing tips on where to eat and transportation. What a lovely staff and a great experience. Nothing fancy, but location and staff friendliness is everything. Great customer service in getting our luggage into the room. If you want an authentic Amsterdam experience, I would recommend this hotel.

Know where you’re staying!
Nice people in the heart of red light district. Isn’t clear when booking so be careful. Very loud until 3-4 am. Very hot and only had a small room fan and could open windows or it was too loud to sleep. Lots of steep stairs to climb. So careful if you stay here know the area you’re going to. Staff super nice and friendly though!
Group of 4 stayed here. Been to Amsterdam 5 times and this is the best place I've stayed in. Martin was a gem. He went above and beyond looking after us. The beds were so comfortable. Little mini bar and snacks was great. Location was in the heart of the action, but yet quite enough to sleep well ( the drink helped as well) the bar is lovely a snug. All staff very nice. We'll be back. Thanks for a great weekend.
The bartender/check in dude Jack was awesome. Helpful in every way. Held our bags etc. This is a convenient location and for the price it's a decent option. I was traveling with teens so be aware that the downstairs bar is lively and the location adjoins the red light district. Not unsafe but a bit of a sensory overload. The other warning is that the steps to the room on the 2nd level are steep and very narrow. If you are elderly don't chance anything above the ground floor. The room itself was more than adequate and surprisingly quiet and roomy. This is probably the perfect hotel for young adults looking to experience all that Amsterdam has to offer
We weren't due to check in until 3pm but had emailed the hotel to see if we could leave luggage there while we explored. Which they were more than happy for us to do. As it happened when we arrived we were told if we'd like to hang on a short while we could check in and get our room there and then. So we had a beer and got checked in.
We had a room overlooking the canal, with French windows, it was great to have these open and just watch the world go by. My partner who has mobility problems, struggled with the stairs but we were aware of how steep stairs are in the older buildings and were prepared to cope with this just for the experience. The room wasn't ensuite but we had our own bathroom directly across the corridor so that wasn't really an issue. We only stayed one night but would have been happy to stay longer.
Lovely team, great location, cozy clean rooms. highly recommend!

Great stay
Had a one night stay as a female solo traveller. The room was great , it's right in the middle of the red light district. The staff were great , allowed me to leave my bag there all day the next day while I was out visiting museums.
Horrible property. Literally located above the girls in the window area of the city. Random people loitering about. They should clearly illustrate where they are located. Did not wind up staying there.
