More than one of our guests described the place as "magical." The forest-like environs is sure to fascinate nature lovers.
The retreat is located on the banks of river Periyar, the largest river in Kerala, South India. It is nestled in a garden of mainly nutmeg, with several other varieties of trees and plants, providing a cool environment.
The location is Chowara village, midway between Cochin International Airport and Aluva Railway Station. Chowara was the summer resort of erstwhile rulers of Kochi in pre-independent India. Chowara is a bustling village now, with a supermarket, urban conveniences and plenty of transport options to different destinations.
The facility itself consists of a whole house, with two bedrooms, a bathroom, living room, spacious and neat kitchen and a sit-out at the back providing a view of the river.
River House offers high-speed Wi-Fi and dependable internet. Convenient workstations are there for working with your laptop. Several of our guests were "workationers" combining work and vacation!
While the kitchen is fully equipped to do your own cooking, you also have the option of ordering food using food delivery apps. Additionally, a number of eateries are available a short auto ride away.
