Very convenient location, next to bus station and old town Takayama

An absolutely magical experience, Yatusankan blew me away with the level of service and the beauty of the property. It was like staying in a museum--my wide and i remarked several times how much it felt like being inside the movie Spirited Away. Staying here was a special highlight of our trip and I hope to come back

Good, new hotel

Clean and helpful staff, very quiet location yet less than 10 minute flat walk to train station. Lovely private onsen.Wish we had the ability to make coffee in our room…

Great location, friendly staff and very large room

The spa was excellent. I love how this hotel is designed with natural wood and minimalist intent. Great staff service as well.

If is a charming traditional Japanese inn in Takayama. It’s location is very convenient for walking to the train station and the main tourist area, but it is situated on a quiet side street. The staff was very friendly. The Japanese breakfast was excellent. We were given kimonos to wear. A very authentic experience.

Special design vibe was the attraction for our party. Need to reserve breakfast the day before, so plan ahead. All in all a nice unique alternative in Takayama, part Japanese, part Western.

The hotel is conveniently located near the train station, making it easy to get around. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic and exceeded my expectations. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back!

Great hotel, really friendly staff, and a good breakfast and public bath (lovely little outdoor pool), a bit of a distance from town but they run a shuttle to and from the station which only takes 15 minutes.

We ended up staying here for two days because of the typhoon. the staff was very friendly and they let us into our rooms early because we were all sitting around the waiting room waiting to get checked in. like most Japanese hotels there was no coffee available before breakfast so we had to walk across the street to 7-Eleven to get coffee. Public bath was fantastic. Breakfast was adequate. Internet was acceptable.

Excellent! Great hotel for families.

Loved the onsen and the breakfast. It was a bit away from Takayama, but they pick up from the station

Great hotel and set up. Easy check in and wonderful room amenities. We had wonderful sleeping accommodations for our family of 6. Plenty of space, the configuration of the water closet separate from the large bath/laundry was really helpful as well as the additional sink in the kitchenette. Incredible attention to details and comforts for extended travelers such as ample hangers as well as multiple types, great drying rack (2 types) and even supplies such as detergent and dish soap were...

This ryokan was so wonderful. The staff is very nice and welcoming. It is a very short walk to Hida historical village. Get the breakfast and dinner package they were so delicious and very filling.

We had a nice one-night stay here. Bedrooms were much bigger than anticipated and we were able to utilize the washer/dryer which was a plus. Very close to the train station.

Situated in the hills above Takayama with stunning views of snow capped peaks, this place is a hidden gem. Only 10 minutes by bus 30 minutes on foot (I know because I walked it a few times)from Takayama station. The bus conveniently drops you off right across from the Hida Folk Village. After a long day of sightseeing, you can walk down the hill and bathe in your own private spa. Then feast on some of the local fare in the restaurant on the premises. The lady that runs this property is super...
