With the scenic beauty of the White MountainsOpens in a new window and the retail allure of outlet malls, this New Hampshire town is popular among skiers and shoppers.

Wedged between the White Mountains and the Maine border, Conway is a quaint town surrounded by unparalleled scenery. Visit several of the villages that make up this populous area: Conway Village, North ConwayOpens in a new window, Center Conway, Redstone, Kearsarge and Intervale.

Redstone’s name comes from its red granite quarry. Hike to its old site and see reflections in the quarry waters. The beautiful trail takes you along the base of Rattlesnake Mountain, although you aren’t likely to see any rattlesnakes.

North Conway is the most popular of the villages. Often people just refer to the entire town by that name. It is home to equal parts scenic destinations and outlet shops.

Take a trip through history along the Conway Scenic Railroad. Beginning at North Conway Station, which has been in operation for over 130 years, old-fashioned trains take you on historic rail routes through the New Hampshire countryside. Have a meal in the dining car.

Echo Lake State Park is the perfect place to enjoy New Hampshire’s beautiful natural surroundings. Hike or drive to Cathedral Ledge, where you are rewarded with panoramic views of the White Mountains. Watch for rock climbers slowly moving up the sheer face of White Horse Ledge. Swim in the clear waters of Echo Lake.

With over 250 alpine trails at 10 resorts, Conway is a skier’s paradise. Hit the slopes at Attitash Ski Resort and enjoy Cranmore Mountain Resort‘s year-round activities.

Complete your trip to Conway browsing its outlet stores. Settlers Green outlet village has dozens of clothing and home goods stores, including the popular L.L. Bean outlet.

You may find accommodations in Conway Village, Intervale and Kearsarge, which are primarily clusters of residential homes. Center Conway is Conway’s oldest settlement.

Conway is busier in winter, with numerous guests arriving to enjoy fantastic skiing. Visit the town at any time of year for a delightful vacation.

Enjoyed Diana’s Baths and Cathedral Ledge and the little “cruise in” of old cars on Monday evening.

We have been to NH many times over any years. We have done 99% of the items mentioned in the past. This was a weekend trip for retail therapy for my daughter, a nurse who works 40-60 hours a week, and me, a retired secondary school teacher.
