Iles de Lerins Luxury Vacations

This is NOT a 4* hotel - at least not when compared to many other, lovely 4* hotels we have been lucky enough to stay in. Staff, while pleasant enough (and all spoke multiple languages, which is a big positive), just did not seem ‘present’ or proactive - not a single staff member ever said Bonjour or Bon soir when we we entering or leaving the hotel, which we found very unusual and unfriendly. The three times we visited the bar, we stood for over five minutes just waiting - not a staff member in sight; resorted to having to ask at reception to please be served. The room was… dodgy! Two cupboard doors would not close / hanging off their hinges; the door handle cover was hanging off; the toilet is very inconveniently situated right behind the toilet door and very squashed in! It took two whole days of wondering why we could not get the air conditioning to work for someone to finally explain how to turn it on - heard similar complaints from the room next door - this was in 30 degree heat when you really, really need air conditioning! Again, it felt like pure apathy on the part of the staff - why could this have not just been explained when we arrived? One day our balcony was not even cleaned at all; dried on bird poo on the glass. There was a broken section of the decking that moved about dangerously. On a positive note the hotel is well located and was quiet to sleep in at night. Menton is BEAUTIFUL and we had a wonderful time - but would NEVER go back to the Napoleon Hotel

Air conditioning didn’t work, check in was awful (incorrect keys were given and the reception was closed so we had to call an emergency number who said they couldn’t help) and reception didn’t reply to messages.

Amazing hotel; hard to fault it so I won’t.

Perfect location, friendly staffs, well maintained, beautiful rooftop view, excellent breakfast with great prices! We had a wonderful time staying in here. It made our trip more enjoyable, thank you!❤️
