Great stay next to a park!

The staff, led by Ivor, is extraordinary, attentive and caring. They set a tone that carries the place, makes it warmly and quintessentially Scottish. Breakfast is superb, the Grand Cafe very good, and the location amid the heart of The Royal Mile utterly perfect.

The stand out was the service. Friendly staff and excellent service. Room service was speedy and if you had breakfast included there was no extra charge. We had an issue with our TV and someone was there within 2 mins. The amenities in the bathroom smelt gorgeous. Loved the variety in the mini bar. Good size mugs for a cuppa. Only down side was the water pressure in the shower.

Perfect location and noise bearable (with ear plugs) as on main road. Apartment was well kitted out and no real issues. A tiny (and cheap) thing but may needed for shower as very slippy and none provided so had to use a towel, not ideal. Only thing that is likely to prevent is staying again is quality of mattress - too soft and so not terribly comfortable sleep. If replaced for better quality one then would certainly do so.

A nice small hotel in a very busy part of the old town. The hotel is located in an interesting area but not easy to access. Rooms are tiny but air conditioning worked well. Staff was extremely helpful providing tips and advice. Breakfast is served in a connecting restaurant but was disappointing with limited selection and little variety. I’m glad I had the opportunity to stay at the Grassmarket Hotel but don’t think I would choose to stay at the hotel in the future.
