This property was lovely and directly across from the beach. The staff were excellent, meals were fantastic and it was centrally located and walkable to shopping and enjoying the seaside board walk.

This was a last minute booking and I was able to book this smoothly within hours of checking in. The hotel is nicely located with a grocery store, pharmacy and restaurants within 3 minutes walking distance. It is close to public transport - within walking distance on a main road to Central station, buses and light rail. I had a room booked for 1 night which was clean, modern, with good amenities - robe, slippers, tea & coffee & various selections for the minibar. I utilized the kettle for my tea, appreciated this immensely! I ended up extending my stay for 4 nights - but switched rooms due to availability. The only suggestion I have is for plugs to be upgraded to include USB/UBC outlets for easy charging ports near the bed and at the built in table. Upgraded lighting around the bathroom mirror would make a noticeable difference and I’m not sure there was a separate fan for the bathroom so got quite steamy during showering! All hotels I have stayed at for this price point have had a clear fan system for bathrooms. Safe for solo travelers! Would stay here again. Note ** The rooftop pool and bar were closed for the winter season so was unable to access these amenities despite the weather being warm and pleasant.

When you enter the lobby area you get the sense that you’re staying is going to be luxurious and quite the experience. However, that experience stops right after the lobby. The rooms are extremely dated and dreary. Stained chairs, unclean bathrooms. We had to change rooms as they placed us right next to the clock tower that would ring the bell every few minutes! You could not sleep!! The second room they moved us to was horrendous! On arrival the bathroom sink was blocked! No place to plug the kettle to make a cup of tea and side table was chipped everywhere. They say black out curtains but there’s so much light coming through from the curtains it disrupts your sleep! Towels smelled liked oil. Abysmal breakfast, apart from the hot items and egg station. In house food is revolting! The bed is comfortable but the pillows are flat, uncomfortable and unsupportive to your neck! There are so many things wrong with this hotel, too long to list. However, the staff saved our stay by their service and attentiveness. They try so hard to make up for what the hotel is lacking. This hotel is no where near a 5 star hotel. It is no where near worth the price you pay for. This place is that one hotel you need to really read the bad reviews on to help save your money.

Excellent place for us to use as a base for vivisting Sydney for a short holiday. 5-10min walk from Redfern railway station meaning it was easy to move around the city.
