Lingga Island Mountain Vacations

I am not dissatisfied with the hotel service but describing the hotel as ‘wonderful’ is completely wrong. It is a 4 star hotel, rooms were 4 star level, morning breakfast was average and the location of the was also average.

Room is great, all 3 rooms booked had an ocean view and a cold aircon. Note that you can see container vessels and Singapore in the horizon and you can’t really swim in the ocean only the swimming pools. Also note that jet ski fumes can be smelt throughout the day which is a bit nauseating and off putting when trying to relax by the pool. Pool is clean, we watched the pools be cleaned daily every morning. But bar pool is closed/abandoned. Jetty bar and jetty was both closed which was a shame cause they advertise this heavily and was a major reason for us choosing this resort. Overall the place is dated and not well cared for, which is a shame because it has a lot potential.

slightly dated facilities and food was sub par. going anywhere out of the resort requires a 30 minute drive on average. overall decent for a short stay but nothing too fancy. montigo resort was next door (about 10 min drive) which was good so we could visit their beach club and other facilities easily.

Staff were so attentive & accomodating that we got to know them by name & treated us as family not just tourists.

Grand Mercure Batam – Comfort, Class & Convenience Our stay at Grand Mercure Batam was an absolute win. From the moment we arrived, the service felt premium yet welcoming. The rooms were spacious, modern, and super comfortable, with city views that made mornings feel extra special. The location is a big highlight — close to shopping, food spots, and just a short ride to Batam’s main attractions. Perfect whether you’re here to relax or explore. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide spread of local and international options, and the hotel facilities like the pool and gym were clean, well-maintained, and relaxing after a day out. What really stood out was the staff — friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. You genuinely feel looked after. If you’re visiting Batam and want a stay that blends luxury, comfort, and convenience, Grand Mercure Batam is a fantastic choice. We’d happily stay here again.
