7.4/10 Good! (1,015 reviews)
Rooms are way smaller than described and the shower was so small that you feel trapped. Street traffic and music from businesses awful. Mosquitoes would get in from under door. The buffet was terrible we didn’t finish our food and elected to pay for outside food each morning. The only positive was short walk to train station.

9/10 Wonderful! (1,002 reviews)
Hotel La Scaletta exceeded our expectations! Everything about the property - location, amenities, breakfast, room, and helpful staff - was excellent. I had stayed in the hotel (and loved it) decades before but it has ascended from a pensione to a true hotel. I hope to return one day!

9.6/10 Exceptional! (1,000 reviews)
I stayed three nights in this hotel and loved the location in the Strozzi square. The breakfast food was tasty and nicely presented, and fresh coffees and specialties drinks were prepared on demand. Like most Italian hotels, the room was small and the plumbing a bit antiquated. I had trouble getting hot water from the shower but the hotel sent a maintenance person up within 5 minutes to help. Perhaps the best thing about this hotel was the staff. They were knowledgeable, helpful, and did everything in their power to make our stay pleasant.

8.4/10 Very Good! (818 reviews)
As expected. Room was clean, I wish the ac did not reset each time we left the room. Also staff needs to check that all lights works properly. The light next to the bed did not turn off.
They asked if we did not mind being charged a service fee of 40 euro. ? Why do we have to pay extra? I hate tipping in the States and was disappointed being asked in Italy.
