The hotel was in a great location. Walking distance to everything required for the holiday. The staff were all very helpful and adviced about the things to do locally. Good local knowledge. The pool area was very clean and the kids had a blast as it was only them using it for the hour allocated. The rooms may need upgrading a little bit with deco and flooring Bathroom was clean. Overall good, would have been excellent if the room deco was updated.

The web site photos make the building look huge and elegant. Not so. It was a very plain hotel in a residential area. The rooms do not have a closet or drawers to unpack your luggage so if you’re planning on staying for multiple days, this makes it a bit difficult. There is a wall area with a few hangers but not a closet. The fan in the bathroom did not work and when I inquired on this, they did not have a solution of the problem.

The hotel's biggest advantage is its excellent location. It's within walking distance of the Old Town, shops, restaurants, and many of Nice's main attractions. The hotel was clean, and the rooms had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. However, the service could have been better. For example, it would have been a nice touch to offer guests water upon arrival. There was an empty glass jug in my room, but no one explained its purpose, and there were no bottled waters provided. Only after I asked did I learn that there were water fountains available on each floor. Another issue was that the windows did not have screens. When I opened the window for fresh air, mosquitoes came into the room. Also, the "garden view" room actually overlooks the street and a nearby park. While the view was pleasant, light sleepers should be aware that traffic noise can be noticeable. Overall, I had a very enjoyable stay and loved the location. Despite a few shortcomings, I would consider staying here again.

We just started off our honeymoon with a stay at Chateau La Cagnard, and it was 100% the right decision! The property is romantic, quiet, and gorgeous. Although it’s tucked away, it’s just a short walk from a town square with patio restaurants at the top of the hill, as well as the main city below. We walked everywhere, used the pool, sunbathed on the deck, and ate at the restaurant several times! The staff was wonderful and went above and beyond to make our trip special: they organized beautiful local flowers for our room, and we even got upgraded to a junior suite with a stunning view of the ocean. Highly recommend!

Beautiful hotel in a great location. The room was lovely and spotlessly clean. Only negative was, we felt, on our first couple of days at breakfast there seemed to be a shortage of staff, disorganisation, having to ask for things e.g. cups, teaspoons etc, also most empty tables still had dirty dishes on from previous guests, and we had to wait for one to be cleared on more than one occasion. Based on our breakfast experience, we decided not to have dinner in the restaurant. However, we plan to return to Nice later in the year, and would definitely not rule out staying here again.

Luxury experience worth the price tag

Breakfast seating had a beautiful view of beach. The staff in the bar and pool area was very professional and very nice.
