Bennett Valley Fishing Vacations

Bathrooms are awkwardly small and double bed rooms were also smaller than expected. Ended up in a downsized room from what we reserved and expected. The industrial adult playground aspect of the common area wasn't as interesting as the listing makes it seem. Above average location, but value overall isn't great due to cost per night. Not super impressed and we won't stay here again.

We stayed here twice on our trip. The hotel is beautiful as are the rooms. Nice ambiance and the outdoor fire pits are really nice as is the pool. Buffet breakfast was amazing, best of any hotel we have ever stayed at, with virtually any fresh food you can think of. Get there before 8AM or you will be lining up to get in! Hotel is only a 5 minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf, 7 minutes to Trader Joes, 10 minutes to the Trolley stop. Hotel is nicely situated for those without cars. The $60+ parking fee is a putoff however. For the $288 per night we paid in March 2026, it should be included, but this is a tourist area and most places take advantage of that. There is quite a bit of street or cheaper paid parking around the hotel if you are staying a few nights. Note that those with disabled car placards or stickers can park 24/7 for free on the street but beware of street cleaning days. We would definitely stay here again.

This property is special. Boutique feeling with a opulence of the yesteryears. We met the GM, Leif who is warm and welcoming and ever present, in a great way! Can't wait to visit again.

Amazing staff at reception specially Claire, Gabe and a few others who've been very helpful, accomodating, and always aimed to please guests. Beautiful lobby with several sections set up with comfy lounges, and tables and chairs.

Clean spacious room, good service. Only wish there were more food options. Restaurant is a little pricey.

The hotel staff was so welcoming and took extra care of our two children by bringing surprise cookies and milk to the room, kid size spa robes and slippers and gifts upon checkout. The food at Astra was delicious and the indoor pool was so much fun.

The Taj Campton is a welcoming place to stay and we have become repeat visitors. All the things that matter are met: cleanliness, comfort, thoughtfulness, location and friendliness.
