Shodo Island Fishing Vacations

We stayed for four days and had a very enjoyable visit. We booked a double room, which was slightly on the small side, but it was very comfortable and had a wonderful view of the city. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and the outdoor hot baths were a real treat. The free shuttle bus to and from the station, which takes around 20 minutes, was really helpful. We also liked being slightly outside the city and enjoyed going for walks and runs from the hotel. Overall, a very relaxing and comfortable stay.

The Wifi was terrible, couldn’t get it most of the time. The breakfast was too expensive for what they offered. Hotel located very close to the train station and the port.

Location was between the castle and the gardens. Lounge was not as nice as expected. Served the same snacks and breakfast each day. Very limited drinks (no soft drinks ) . Only one selection of sake and it was very sweet. Udon at breakfast was tasty . Lounge staff was nice.

I thought the food was really tasty.

The stay was generally quite nice. One small issue we had was that there were many kids staying in the room next to us and they were making a lot of noise late at night around 10:30. Otherwise the hotel offers many nice services. The onsen have several options including open-air, laying baths, and a larger indoor bath. Additionally they have an interesting waterfall shower where the water falls in a stream on your head. They also have 4 private baths that can be quite busy as they are on a first come first serve basis. There is free laundry that also had a short wait. They offer a few complimentary food items as well. I tried the late night ramen which I found tasty. We booked a room with a private open-air bath attached because my wife has tattoos which are not allowed to be shown in the public baths. This let us bathe right out a door from our accommodation which was quite convenient and enjoyable.

It's easy to check in & out. Also, it's close to Kurashiki Station. Nothing fancy nor gorgeous but very convenient.
