Great food! Staff were super friendly and helpful. Clean rooms that were spacious. Awesome stay overall!

Rooms were beautiful, wish the buffet was better. Waitstaff seemed upset when I asked for coffee.

Amazing staff, great food, fun events going on, etc. The only real downside is the beach. It’s full of seaweed even at the time of year when it’s supposed to be at its lowest level. If you don’t mind not having a swimmable beach everything is perfect.

We recently stayed at Hyatt Zilara Maya Riviera, and there is no question that the property itself is beautiful. From the moment you walk in, the architecture and meticulously maintained grounds create a true jungle oasis. The rooms are modern and comfortable, with an excellent bed and a spacious, well designed shower. Our hosts, Diaz and Fernanda, were outstanding. They made scheduling effortless and kept us informed about daily events. The service throughout the resort is genuinely five star. The staff clearly care. The spa, located about half a mile away in the jungle, is a highlight. The open air hydrotherapy area is unique and peaceful, and the massage was world class. It is expensive, but that is expected at this level. They were willing to work with us on a package, which we appreciated. Now for the part that simply cannot be overlooked: the food. Before posting this review, I spoke directly with a manager about our experience, so this feedback should not be a surprise. Unfortunately, the dining program is nowhere near five star. Compared to our previous stays at NYX Hotel Cancun and Hyatt Zilara Cancun, the buffet and restaurant offerings here feel dramatically scaled down, and not in a refined or curated way. Smaller can work if the quality is exceptional. That is not the case. With one major exception, the food was bland, uninspired, and poorly executed. Room was spotless, entire resort was spotless! Staff spoke every single time we passed by, very friendly and courteous. The Zen Teppanyaki grill was amazing! Our grill master Richi cooked our food to perfection and was very entertaining. Our other wait staff at the grill (and the entire resort) were awesome as well, too many names to remember but I will try: Edwardo, Enricho, Armando (buffet), bartenders Hugo, Jujulianna (at the beach bar….who I promised my pair of fun sunglasses to if I can ever find out how to send them (the bar closed early and I never found her again….so sorry Julie!) We also loved the beautiful rooms and especially the double shower heads, amazing! Overall a great stay and would stay again. Only drawback was the reservation system…..nearly impossible to get more than one during our stay..I happened to have a fantastic contact in my Expedia rep Yale Coba, he was instrumental in securing reservations for my group and helped with booking our excursion as well, thank you again Yale!
