The staff is awesome. They were kind, helpful and accommodating.

The hotel has a lovely environment with beautiful gardens and a relaxing holiday atmosphere. Unfortunately, our experience with housekeeping was disappointing. Our room was not cleaned on the second night, and after we informed the hotel, the manager apologized, assured us our room would be prioritized for cleaning, and kindly gave us a $100 credit. However, that evening we found the bed was not properly made—one bedsheet was missing, and we had to wait 15 minutes for staff to bring one. Since it was already late, we didn’t wait for them to change the duvet, which also had a black spot. While we really appreciated the surroundings and atmosphere, the housekeeping issues left us disappointed, and we may consider other options in the future.

The staff was exceptional, making our stay truly memorable. We eagerly anticipate our return to this wonderful establishment. We express our deepest gratitude to the management and staff for their exceptional kindness and hospitality towards our family. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning in the future.

I get it, the place is old it’s nostalgic. Nothing special to write home about. If it was me next time I would search for a new, renovated, more up to date hotel. If you are 75yrs old + you may like this for the "history" and that's about it. The hotel is old, and very out dated. For $1k+ a night, you may want to fix the loud room A/C. I say demo and make room for something better. Feels, smells and just is old.

The hotel was great- clean- in walking distance to Petco Park, the Midway, and all of the Gaslamp restaurants and shops. The valet staff was quick and polite- and the process was so easy when we needed our car. The hotel staff were helpful and kind- and I got texts daily to check in on our stay. They even helped with restaurant recommendations! If I ever get to visit San Diego again- I will def stay here!

The hotel system was down on our first day of arrival. Despite this, the staff provided us with free margaritas, but there was a two and a half-hour wait for a room after check-in time do to the system being down.

The Hilton has done a wonderful job restoring this majestic and storied property with the utmost care—leaving all of the charm intact but updating where needed. We LOVED every moment of our stay!
