Had a lovely staff here. Room was lovely. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Lovely pool and restaurants, amazing choice at breakfast. Near several locations you can walk to and explore. The airport collection was really easy. Good wifi in all areas of the hotel. Would stay here again and at other Barahi group properties.

Everything at Hotel Shanker is truly great. I really feel at home in this beautiful hotel. The staff are magnificent and everyone is so friendly and helpful. The architecture of this old historical palace is stunning. The entrance and lobby is so beautiful and great for photos. The garden in front is wonderful and the pool is terrific. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Shanker. It’s the only place I stay when visiting Kathmandu. I’m already looking forward to a return visit!! Thank you Hotel Shanker for treating me so well and giving me such great memories and photos!!

This was the perfect resort to stay in post our Everest Base Camp trek. The rooms were very comfortable and the shower was hot. We received excellent service from the restaurant staff, the spa services were high quality and the pool and hot tub were very relaxing. All in all we loved our stay at the Terraces and would recommend this as a great get-away from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu / Thamel. Note that the road to the resort is steep and windy and I would recommend booking the transfer through the hotel as they have a Jeep and a very good driver.

Everything was lovely! The staff is courteous, helpful and welcoming. We arrived on an early flight and they treated us as full guests from the moment we walked in the door. It’s an exceptional experience!
