Exceptionally clean and comfy room, fresh bedding and towels available.
Perfect location on the river, by the train station with just a 5 minute walk to the city centre.
We stayed in room 1 and had a lovely view of the river on the morning, hotel was quiet, warm and comfortable.
Martyn assisted with great communication telling us everything we needed to know prior to getting to the guest house, check in and check out was simple and easy.
A range of amenities in the room such as a smart TV, warm shower, hot drinks and a bottle of cold water in the fridge.
Will defiantly be back on our next visit to York!
Honestly, just a perfect stay. Convenient and beautiful location, clean and comfortable bed and bathroom, and access to a fridge. There will be access to laundry again, but was currently under repair.
In 3 weeks of travelling, this was absolutely my favorite. The room was big, clean, and very comfortable. The bed and pillows were soft. There was a nice couch and wardrobe to relax. There are fridges in each room as well as in the common area to store food. Chilled bottled water is stocked in every fridge. There are glasses for wine and other drinks. The location is phenomenal - looks over the river with seating outside to enjoy. The path along the river is great for walks. Close by is the gardens which are lovely. 5-10 minutes to walk to the York minister. The train station is on the other side of the river so it was SO easy to catch the train - there are ramps up the bridge so no steps for the luggage! Martyn was great and gave me food recommendations as well as tourist items that would meet my interests. The only things that may bother people - you can hear the train (I don't think they ran at night), but I didn't find it that loud and Martyn provides ear plugs. The stairs to the rooms are VERY steep so if you have mobility issues, you may struggle. Very kindly, Martyn carried my suitcase for me.
