Worlds of Fun has a theme based on Around the World in Eighty Days, the famous 1873 adventure novel Jules Verne. The park winds its way through Scandinavia, Africa, Americana, The Orient and Europa. Along the way you’ll be treated to roller coasters, giant swings and Planet Snoopy, a special section for children.
Take on the Spinning Dragons in The Orient, or wrestle with the mamba in the Africa section. The Patriot ride in Americana is a favorite for many visitors, with its stars-and-stripes branded carriages lifting passengers up to 150 feet (45 meters) before taking them on zero gravity rolls and corkscrews. The Autobahn provides the classic bumper car experience, and the Finnish Fling will have you questioning the laws of physics.
The rides have varying height restrictions however, many rides cater to smaller children who can often ride with adults.
For those seeking a less intense ride and for younger children, Planet Snoopy is the place to go. Send the young ones for a spin on the themed bumper cars and smaller rides that offer plenty of fun, without the height and speed of the other rides.
Inside the park you’ll find all the necessary amenities, including fast-food style diners and a la carte restaurants.
The park covers a large area and since the inclusion of the adjacent Oceans of Fun in 2013, the two parks make up one of the largest amusement parks in Missouri. Entrance to both parks is included with the cost of admission. During the summer months make your way to Oceans of Fun for a refreshing dip in one of the themed pools, or a ride on one of the various water slides.
Worlds of Fun is located about 15 minutes’ drive to the northeast of Kansas city, just north of the Missouri River. Opening hours and days vary throughout the season of April to November, so be sure to check before booking. Pay parking is available.
