「It's right in front of the bus stop, easy to access from Penrith station. Very clean and cosy room, friendly and kind staff. I had a dinner at the restaurant, very good. Needless to say, the English full breakfast was fantastic. 」
「If you stay here, just know that it’s an older space, but it’s also beautiful. They have a great area to gather and games to play. The property has a proper garden area with lots of places to sit. We would absolutely go back.」
「We had a lovely stay at Woodlands Country House. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was a great base to explore the wonderful Lake District and surrounds. Daryl and Naomi are great hosts. Daryl's food is amazing. We shall miss his great breakfasts. We were very sad to leave Woodlands. Would definitely stay there again. 」
「Such a great room, especially with a dog. We had a door straight out in to a lsmall beer garden. Absolutely huge shower & extra large room were great too. Extremely good value room & very quiet. We also ate there on the evening & food was really good, all home made & a cheesecake to die for. We were doing a charity walk nearby at Buttermere on the Sat so it was perfectly positioned for us. 「The Royal Oak is in a stunning location and there has clearly been a lot of investment in upgrading the facilities and decor. This has resulted in very stylish, thoughtfully designed, high quality accommodation.
The room & bathroom were gorgeous with good storage, a very comfortable bed and good quality fabrics, linen & towels.
Everywhere was spotlessly clean.
We very much enjoyed the evening meal and breakfast, both cooked well and with good quality ingredients.
