「We had a wonderful five-day stay at Tawny Cottage in Portinscale in mid-May. The cottage was spotlessly clean, very cosy, and it was such a lovely touch to find the heating already on when we arrived. The kitchen was exceedingly well equipped, which made self-catering easy, and the beds were very comfortable, so we slept really well throughout our stay.
The location was excellent too - close to The Farmer’s Arms, a traditional pub serving good food, and with easy access to Keswick while still...

「Fern Cottage was lovely - comfy, cosy and clean. Perfect being a detached property, and the secure garage storage for the bikes was a bonus.
Just be careful on the drive - it is steep and low cars may struggle with the hump at the top. We have a reasonably high car and still caught the exhaust with a fully loaded car.
That said, it is a lovely property and we will definitely book again.」

「Very comfortable and clean, great spot for walking locally or down to Keswick. Plenty of space for meals and cooking or just relaxing. Good pub next door! Car parking is tight- more signage would help - and outdoor areas would benefit from some weeding, but these are minor points. Would definitely recommend.」
