Mountain View is a fantastic two bedroom apartment that offers the ideal place to relax with family and friends, situated within easy walking distance of Keswick Market Square and Derwentwater lakeshore. The apartment is located in Heads Road Court, a little hidden courtyard super close to the lake, but in the town centre.

The free, allocated parking certainly helps breathe a sigh of relief when you arrive. Morrels is the top floor apartment in the small, quiet, block, which is half residential, half holiday accommodation.

Being the penthouse apartment may mean a healthy trot up three flights of stairs, but it certainly has the best views! You can't beat the views of Skiddaw to one side and towards the lake and Borrowdale on the other. Don't fear if you have outdoor equipment, or a big buggy, we have secure storage in the courtyard, where you can keep your things safe during your stay.

The apartment has a beautifully styled double bedroom, and second bedroom with another double bed plus one single bed making the property very versatile for different groups. The family bathroom, with shower over the bath, includes luxury bathroom toiletries.

Hosting open plan living, the kitchen has a fridge, freezer, double oven, five burner gas hob, dishwasher and microwave. In the large lounge area, there is a dining table for four, and a leather corner sofa with flat screen TV and DVD. There is gas central heating for the chillier months and a feature electric fire in the lounge area. We offer free, secure WiFi throughout the apartment.

The shores of Derwentwater, the famous Keswick boat landings and Friars Cragg are only a five minute walk from the apartment.

I have stayed in Keswick many times over the years but this was my first stay in Mountain View. It won't be the last! It's a really lovely apartment, exceptionally clean and although there are a lot of stairs it's worth the climb!

A gem of a property

We had a wonderful stay at Mountain View. It was our first stay in Keswick and I would definitely use Keswick Cottages again as they provide excellent customer service. The property itself was perfect for our needs. It was sparkling clean and obviously well maintained. Fabulous views a bonus. It had a central position so perfect for town centre shopping and restaurants. Easy access to the fantastic walks nearby.

We have stayed numerous times in Mountain View and it’s like home from home, stunning views, newly refurbished, we stay two to three times a year in this ideally located apartment. Would recommend using Keswick Cottages, the device is friendly and always vey helpful!

Mountain View

Just spent four nights at Mountain View, this is the second time we've stayed and no doubt we will be back. The accommodation is lovely and clean and very comfortable. It has everything you need and more. There are views from all of the windows and it is in a good position for pubs,restaurants and shops and also just a short walk to Derwentwater. Good value for money and would definitely recommend.

Nice accommodation

It was a lovely place to stay, central but not too noisy. The flat had everything we needed. I would really have liked some darker curtains in the bedroom. The light came straight through the blinds and woke me early most mornings, which was a shame because the bed was comfortable!

Home from home

Perfectly situated for our needs & for a short stay in the Lake District. Magnificent views across Keswick to Skiddaw. Very comfortable and well equipped. If you don’t want to use your car, there is a bus station nearby with links to many areas. The only thing to be aware of is the fact that there are 3 flights of stairs to reach the apartment.

A really good place to stay

The location with its designated free parking was brilliant. We could do some walks straight from the front door without needing to use the car. The apartment had everything you need, really comfortable, spotlessly clean and the bath was great after a long walk. The 3 flights of stairs mentioned in other reviews wasn't that bad. The only downside was the noise of bin lorries and deliveries across the car park at 5am and the noise of glass bottles being emptied into a bin from the restaurant below. Not terrible, but we stayed in March, I expect the noise during peak summer season would be much worse.

Mountain View Stay

Really well maintained apartment, extremely clean and lovely to return to after long walks on the fells which can be accessed from the door. Parking space a bonus in such a central location and great views across to Skiddaw and Walla Crag from kitchen and lounge respectively. A bit of a challenge carrying luggage up to third floor but well worth the effort. Can also be quite noisy early mornings with bin collections and activity from Fell Pack restaurant on the bottom floor of the building but this did not detract from our stay. We have booked with Keswick Cottages on many occasions and have found them to be extremely helpful offering high quality holiday accommodation.

Another great stay

This apartment fulfils all our expectations and needs, in terms of locality, facilities and cleanliness and has done for very many years. It is within walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants, public transport and the shore of Derwentwater. There are wonderful views of the mountains from the apartment but be prepared to climb 3 flights of stairs. The owners have recently updated the kitchen, bathroom and living room to a very high standard. Any issues are always promptly and efficiently dealt with by Keswick Cottages staff.

Short stay

This is the second time we have stayed in this apartment and won’t be the last. The apartment is home from home, very comfortably sleeps four. The two double bedrooms are very spacious and beds are so comfortable. Only issue is their is a lot of stairs up to the apartment certainly not suitable for the infirm. Customer service from Keswick cottages was outstanding, after I left my bag after checking out nothing was a problem to get it returned.

Excellent short break

Mountain View is a perfect place for a Lake District stay. The apartment itself is spotless and the bed is so comfy. The property has everything you could need. Location is prime and the parking space just seals the deal. There are a good few stairs to the property but this is made clear in the description and was not an issue for us. It could be a bit noisy at times due to its location but again this was not an issue for us. We have used Keswick Cottage’s before and we would not stay with anyone else. The only issue I can think of was the email I received said about a tablet in the property with everything you need but I assume the app I received ow supersedes this? There was also some confusion over the bins as my info said they were collected on a Friday but others on the block had been told Tuesday and it wasn’t clear at all. Again this was not a problem but might be worth making the information clearer as local resident said it had recently changed to 2 weekly collections so was a bit muddled. We are already looking to book again next year the apartment was ideal. Thank you

Excellent Location

Excellent location and very large. Apartment was clean and bedrooms smelled freshly cleaned (happy face) Some dirty cutlery in the drawer but that’ll be the dishwashers fault in not cleaning thoroughly. Beds and sofa very comfy. Not all windows worked and some latches not very secure. Could be quite noisy from the street and the road. Bins were full when we arrived (Monday) and were full when we left (Friday) - luckily we didn’t have much rubbish but would have been an issue if we did have more waste. Not sure when they get emptied. Customer service was great and responded very quickly to any emails I had. Pricey for my liking but I suppose it’s on par with the Lakes. As others have mentioned, couple of flights of stairs but didn’t put us off. Would book again.

Amazing stay. Can’t wait to go back!

The apartment was amazing. Views were gorgeous and the rooms were also spotless. I had to contact keswick cottages a few times for different things and each time they replied almost instantly, resolving my issue. We have already booked to return to one of their properties as they made the stay so much better. Really would recommend this apartment, there are a few flights of stairs which is stated in the description but I really wouldn’t let this put you off. Highly recommend

Won’t return!

We thought this was a very lovely apartment, well equipped, nicely decorated & very clean. However, we’ve never stayed in self catering anywhere in Keswick or the U.K. that was so noisy & bedrooms were way too bright. I did call before booking to ask about noise levels & was assured it wasn’t going to be a problem. There was a lot of noise from early in the morning until late at night from the street & kitchen at the Fellpack below. Better double glazing may help?! The blinds in bedrooms weren’t sufficient to keep any daylight out & we don’t won’t to be woken at 5am on holiday by a bright room! Fit better curtains and/ or blackout blinds.

Winter Mountain View

Bedding and beds excellent good quality and comfortable Kitchen equipment varied basics fine but large frying pan needs replacing, no egg cups, only one metal bowl for mixing or keeping things in. Glasses fine and good selection. Crockery everything you need but cheap and very heavy particularly the plates ! Position great for the town however the hotel at the base of the apartments is now a busy pizzeria/bar so has early catering and alcohol deliveries daily which can be noisy, also if you move your car you often find another car in your space despite it being marked for flat 4 So overall fine and comfortable with great views but could do with a few tweaks

Fabulous

Apartment was beautiful, everything you needed for a relaxing stay in Keswick. A lot of stairs up to the apartment so not for infirm but worth it for the views when your there. We will recommend and most certainly return.
