Not as described online
The grounds were ungroomed, so we couldn't pull up to the teepee per fire hazard. The description online seemed to be very vague and we were unable to speak to anyone until we actually got there. We arrived 2 hours early, but we just popped in to talk about the potential for a 3rd person to join us. We waited 20+ min until somone approached us. There were no signs as to an office, or clues as to where to be. 3 buildings in total and so we were nervous to jump right into any bldg to find someone. Again, the booking site was not helpful in knowing that beforehand so we took a chance. He agreed on a 3rd person being okay but we kinda felt like a bother to him. When we came back to check in, we realized there was no bathroom to be found per signs or anything. No one around to talk to. Grasshoppers were like the swarm from the bible! Which I know isn't their fault but the grooming would help. The tarp on the bed was to protect ourselves from the elements? Not sure, but when there were 40 hoppers per bed, we opted out of staying. It did say on the site no refunds on cancelations but the gentleman I spoke withsaid he would do a partial refund and that he needed to speak with vrbo to discuss just what he could do. I was very appreciative and waited a week for a response. I did not receive one and at that time called him to ask about our partial refund. He was agitated and told me he didn't have the time talk with vrbo yet. But he made sure to ask that I not leave a review as this is how he makes his money. Even if he had just said no, I could've just lived with it. But he led me to believe otherwise and that's just rude. I tried to explain to him that it was more than just the grasshoppers but he was defensive and I was at that point done and said goodbye. If the description was more clear as to where bathrooms were, a walkway to it, lights? Maybe grooming the land for a fire pit for camping (or knowledge of not being able) and pleasant warning about what to expect for out of towners online, would be super helpful. And next time you say you'll do something, do it.
