Samaria Gorge (Φαράγγι Σαμαριάς), Crete

This is one of Europe's longest Gorges and makes for a great hike (one of my favourites) as the scenery is stunning all the way along. It runs for 16km and is a National Park of Crete. #TakeAHike #packsandaplan

「100 percent will return. The owners Argriris and his brother were unbelievably welcoming, proper Greek welcome. Sitting on the roof in the jacuzzi was great, especially at sun set. If you asked how to get around or had some other issues, if they didn't know, they would find out for you asap. All the staff were brilliant. 「Excellent for a one night stop before flight. Beautiful apartments set into the hillside overlooking Souda Bay. Incredibly modern, new and super clean. Very spacious rooms, equipped with all the essentials and also outstanding views. Staff are absolutely wonderful. Nothing was an issue for them. 「Excellent host. Would show up on bike within 5 minutes. The home is on a beautiful archeological path you can take to see ruins. Home is located within the historical venitian Chania walls. 「We stayed in Pasiphae, the Avra apartment over two levels and with a balcony overlooking the harbour. It was amazing, without a doubt one of the best holiday apartments we have stayed in. 「Lovely big space with a great terrace. Hot water is solar but has a heater if needed. Kitchen is quite well equipped although youre so close to so much good food, you won't need it. Washing machine is a total bonus. Parking isnt allowed directly outside but we had no problem parking in the next street after dropping off bags. Call the owner on arrival and you'll be inside 5 minutes later. We would absolutely stay again. 」
