Westboro Railroad yard was at one time a major hub for freight and passenger rail, including a turntable, maintenance building, and a large bunkhouse for railroad workers. The line ran between Boston, Mass. and Montreal, Canada. This engine still works a short freight line between White River Junction, Vermont and West Lebanon, NH. The Claremont and Concord Railroad brings carloads of cement and propane the 1 mile over the Connecticut River. For now, this is all that remains of that proud legacy.

This Aircraft, a 1948 LUSCOMBE 8F Fixed wing single engine two seater has a 95 horsepower reciprocating engine which allows it to fly at a cruising speed of 86 miles per hour. This was one of several antique aircraft at the annual (held each fall) Wings and Wheels Day at the Lebanon, NH Municipal Airport.
A whimsical over 5 ‘ high steel umbrella is artwork found along the rail trail. The Mascoma Valley Greenway runs from W. Lebanon, NH to downtown Lebanon, NH. following the the old rail line and intersecting with Mascoma River. The Northern Rail Trail continues from there for another 50 + miles to the south through some of NH’s most beautiful countryside.

The King Arthur Flour Co. began in Boston in 1790. Now an employee owned company it is just simply amazing. A visit there can reward one with all sorts of culinary delights. The store has baking supplies, equipment, and classes. The sheer variety of flours, recipes and tasty sandwiches, desserts, and breads is a bit overwhelming. You just can't go home empty-handed.
