"We had a fantastic two-night stay at The George. Every member of staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely keen to make sure our stay was perfect. We stayed in Room 2, which was comfortable with a great-sized bed and a lovely view over the harbour. Tea, coffee, fresh water, towels—everything we needed was there and thoughtfully prepared. Breakfast was included, and the Full English was cooked perfectly. There was also fresh fruit, Greek yogurt, and orange juice, which made for a great start to the day. The bar in the evening had a brilliant atmosphere, with a mix of locals and tourists that made it feel really welcoming. A special thank you to the host—you made us feel so at home. We’d definitely recommend The George and would happily stay again."

"We cannot fault this hotel. The staff were attentive, polite and helpful. The room was well lit, adequate power sockets and overlooked Broad Street. There was a reasonable bar menu and the breakfast was excellent. There was parking around the west side of the building. The Winter/Spring price was reasonable but it can more than double in high season."

"Lovely hotel. Clean and comfortable. Had an issue with heating in the from and they solved it promptly. Staff were informative and helpful and friendly. Rooms and bathrooms were large and clean. Shower was excellent. Would recommend. "

"The staff were faultless, and paid much attention to my border collie (not surprising: that always happens.) The room was too hot and there were a lot of strange stains on the walls. Very weird. The rooms were good otherwise. Bathroom very stylish and functional. Bed= comfortable. Good thread count on the linen. Biscuits good. Coffee undrinksble. I’d stay again, but I’d bring my aeropress. And I’d try not to look at the walls. "

"Booked for 1 night, business trip. Biggest positive was staff, helpful great people. Biggest negative, a bit let down shower cabin. In general good standard room for a good price. Small paid parking but managed smart and safe, which was important for me. "
