FAQ – During your stay
Is the kitchen fully equipped?
The kitchen is compact but thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for simple meals at home, including major appliances and basic cookware.
Is there wifi and a place to work?
Yes, the apartment has wifi suitable for checking email, planning your day, or streaming on the smart TV. The compact layout is best for light laptop work rather than multiple people working full‑time from home.
What public transit is nearby?

Is parking included?
We don’t have a private driveway or garage, but we can provide access to a neighborhood parking pass. You just need to register for the pass ahead of time, and then you can park on eligible residential streets nearby; this works best if you plan to park once and explore mostly on foot, by streetcar, bus, Metro, or rideshare.
Do you offer early check‑in or late check‑out?
We can sometimes accommodate early check‑in or late check‑out depending on cleaning schedules and same‑day bookings. Send us a message with your request, and we’ll confirm what’s possible closer to your dates.
Guest Access:
The apartment is a private first‑floor unit within a historic row home. You’ll have full use of the living room, kitchen, bedroom with en‑suite bathroom, and both outdoor spaces (front garden and backyard patio with grill).
There is a family living upstairs, and you may hear normal sounds of daily life (footsteps, stairs, kids playing) as they move around, just as they may occasionally hear you. This is a real Capitol Hill home, not a sound‑proofed hotel, and best suited to guests who are comfortable with typical city and household noise.
The Neighborhood:
Capitol Hill is one of DC’s most beloved neighborhoods, known for historic rowhouses, leafy streets, and a vibrant mix of markets, restaurants, and nightlife. From this home, you’re well positioned for both government business and leisure—close to the U.S. Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, and the National Mall.
You’re also just a short walk from the H Street corridor, with its bars, restaurants, and the Whole Foods at 7th & H NE, as well as Eastern Market and neighborhood parks. It’s the perfect base if you want the feel of a real residential block with excellent walkability to many of DC’s best spots.
Getting Around:
You’ll be about 0.1 miles from the DC Streetcar on H Street, which runs between Union Station and the H/Benning corridor and is currently free to ride; we recommend checking current schedules and status before your trip.
Several bus lines (including the D6, 90/92, and X8) have stops just a stone’s throw from the apartment, giving you easy access to Union Station, downtown, and other neighborhoods without a car. If you enjoy walking, you can reach Eastern Market, Union Market, Capitol Hill, the Capitol, and Union Station on foot, and nearby Capital Bikeshare stations offer another easy way to explore on two wheels.
Other Things to Note:
This is a charming, older Capitol Hill row home with the character that comes along with it—wood floors, some quirks, and the sounds of neighbors above.
Please review house rules before booking, especially regarding smoking, parties, and unregistered guests, to ensure a comfortable stay for both you and our upstairs neighbor
Interaction with Guests:
We offer easy self check‑in and are available by message if you need anything before or during your stay. We’re happy to share recommendations for neighborhood restaurants, coffee shops, grocery options, and the best ways to reach the Capitol, Union Station, and the Mall from the apartment.

We enjoyed our stay at this property! It was perfect for the two of us and in a convenient location to get to the sites in DC. The management company was so very helpful and always available to answer any questions!
Great spot in a residential neighborhood. A short walk to groceries, coffee, etc. We enjoyed both outdoor areas. We have family nearby and look forward to staying again!!
Very charming! Loved it! Lacked for nothing! Loved the little outdoor patio. Close by to family whom we were visiting!

Great apartment in a quiet neighborhood with a lovely outdoor seating area. Whole Foods within a block and nice coffee shops. Loved that the host provided good quality coffee grounds and French press. Walkable to all the main attractions of DC and Union Station.
Great place to situate yourself for a DC trip. Easy access to the transit and Union Station. Easy access to basic needs. (Food & Groceries) Neighborhood was great and the school playground next-door was good surprise. Tight for a family of 4, but a great choice if you plan to spend more time out and about seeing the sites.
This historic one bedroom apartment really worked well for us. Great location - close to public transportation and walkable to many sites. Very nice neighborhood. Property manager couldn’t have been more accommodating and was available quickly via email. We would highly recommend this property for a stay in Washington DC
We enjoyed out time at this property. Very well maintained and exactly as advertised--no surprises. Easily accessible to the attractions in the area. We were near our daughter's home which was a big plus. We would definitely stay again. Thank you
As above, all aspects were good. When it came time to check out, we were a bit confused about the system. We just did the proper thing of putting used utensils in the washer and trying to clean as much as possible. A short written guidance would have been very helpful.
We had a great time and we feel the place was great. If we were to book again we would like to have a dresser to store our clothes. We did not bring a lot of clothes but we had to put them everywhere. A small dresser would have been perfect. I also would have like to see a full set of utensils. 8 spoons and 2 forks just was not great. Otherwise everything else was great and we enjoyed using the place for our stay.
Thank you

Not for us but maybe OK for you
This place had very easy access, walk right in but there is a step down immediately into the unit which you can’t see until you trip, this is how we got started. Very easy for Uber rides. 15 min walk to Union Station but not really as walkable to sightseeing as we thought it would be. This place is TINY! We had no place to put our luggage so it was basically all over the main room. The couch was awful to sit on, the bed was okay. Nice big closet in bedroom with lots of hangers which was one of the best things. There are no bedside tables and one outlet so bring a power strip along. The bathroom has no hook for hand towels but has hooks for drying bath towels and a big shelving unit to put your stuff, that was nice. The water pressure was not great and the bathtub was kind of rounded at the bottom which made it very hard to stand in for showers. Kitchen had all the things one may need. They provided tea and coffee but expected you to replenish if you used any, that was odd. There is a family living upstairs and they are loud at times, otherwise a fairly quiet neighborhood. If you are a single person or couple with not a lot of stuff you may really enjoy this place.
