We took the direct GWR train to Oxford. The guided tour of Oxford Castle was very enjoyable. The Botanical Gardens in January was not worth the visit/price due to time of year and half of the greenhouses being closed.

We took the direct GWR train to Oxford. The guided tour of Oxford Castle was very enjoyable. The Botanical Gardens in January was not worth the visit/price due to time of year and half of the greenhouses being closed.
2 hour walking tour was well worth it - got history, understood what we were looking at, a glimpse into culture, tidbits of Harry Potter filming locations for the kids - we all enjoued.
We participated in an Oxford University tour- it was fantastic- highly recommend
Take several walking tours...both official and by local students. Each one has different perspectives. Then revisit those sights on your own to fully appreciate.
Visit the colleges of Oxford. There are excellent old pub. The first coffee house in England is in Oxford. There are some good restaurants in the city. The city has excellent theater and classical music
We followed the GPS but I’m still not sure we even saw the university.
