"Best hotel to stay in Urbana/Champaign, but pricey"

"Very nice facility very friendly and attentive staff. Outside of not having hot water the first day which things like this happen, it was a pleasant experience. I requested a refund for the first day because of the Hot water issue and they promptly removed the entire charge for the first day. Very nice of them. I would recommend anyone to stay there and we will also the next time we are in Champaign."

"The pics and descriptions don't do this place justice. The renovations are gorgeous. Layout is perfect - I didn't want to leave! Kitchen is huge and the upscale appliances are awesome. We spent a lot of time in the sunroom watching the golfers. Decor is eclectic and interesting - everything is well-appointed including great bath products, sheets and towels. We were very familiar with the area as my niece lived near there last year -- super close to Walmart, Schnucks, Harvest Market, bowling. Two things to know: Someone who doesn't mind light in the morning should sleep in the master bedroom because of the clesterory windows (we didn't mind, but put my brother in a bedroom with darkening shades!). And, I think this is mentioned, but to confirm, this is not a street you can park on, so only 4 cars will fit tight in the driveway."

"Homewood suites was a great place to stay. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and clean and the breakfast were good. The gym was good. The only reason for a four star was because the pool was cold, otherwise it was a great stay. "

"Was perfect for a weekend visit to Champaign. Not too far from Illinois campus and Memorial Stadium. House was clean and had everything we needed. Host was super responsive to questions. "

"Assisted with my nieces move to the area and looked for a rental that could accommodate a small (12 ft) moving van. During my search I came across this lovely, comfortable cottage. During her collage years at UofI, we have stayed at various VRBO’s in the area. This has become our favorite! The neighborhood was pleasant and welcoming for a walk or run. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Long (for a home in town) driveway was a definite plus for us. We utilized the screened in front porch for morning coffee. Comfortable living room was a blessing after a day of moving furniture. We had one glitch. After working 38 years in maintenance, I don’t tend to worry much about occasional “glitches”, things happen. It’s more about how owners respond that I’m interested in. A smoke detector started its “low battery” beep in the middle of the night. Annoying sure, but not the end of the world. Had the same thing happen in our home. In the morning I searched for a battery in the kitchen drawers, but didn’t find one. I send a note advising of the situation. We went about our day and by mid morning I had a note back that the owner had come by and replaced the battery. Very responsive. We had a few other questions that were promptly answered. Will I stay here again? Without question. Now that my niece has moved to the area to teach, this cottage will be our first choice when visiting. Comfortable, charming cottage with very responsive owners in a quiet neighborhood. "
