Exceeded expectations
Tldr: I’m a firm believer that the house doesn’t make the stay; it allows you to focus your time on your friends and family. Lots of memories created and i’m grateful. Incredible value for beachfront w/ private pool.Pros: - location was insane. Semi private road leading in with a guard; pool and beach on property. Beach is 40 steps from back door- house is much larger than the 1700 sq feet advertised. Each room is gigantic and has a private bathroom. - wind from the ocean kept the mosquitos away. Only got bit while having drinks in downtown tulum. - pizza oven and grill (charcoal) in backyard allowed us to cook outside. - staff kept fresh water filled.- pool depth was shallow; great for kids. Shallowest end came up to my knees, deeper end was probably around 5 ft deep. Temperature was “refreshing”. Don’t expect a hot pool, but it was far from “freezing” that others claimed it was. Cons: - no bathtub (if you have kids)- house was showing some wear. - hot water would go in and out. Contacting the staff usually resolved the issue. - stove was a bit worn out- seaweed; but that’s everywhere on this coast.Tips:- if you plan to cook, take inventory at the house first. We ended up having to buy a knife and other utensils bc everything was dull.- use the bbq. Buy coal in town.- rent a car; it’s 15 minutes to town and grocery.- get the Sonos app; they have a Sonos sound bar.- no dishwasher; if you want to cook a lot without cleaning, buy disposable
