"BOOK THIS HOTEL! Loved our stay and totally worth the 2.5 hour train ride from Osaka. Was able to check in promptly at 3 p.m. and our bags were whisked away to our room. We immediately received our onsen pass and were able to get in a bath before our kaiseki dinner. The next morning we were able to explore more of the public baths and had an amazing breakfast. "Our stay provided us with a very authentic traditional experience, from the bedding to the food. The staff were very kind to alter our evening and morning meal to accommodate a no fish diet. "It should be a crime what they charge for these rooms. We got a no meal plan and it was still over ¥20,000 a night. The walls and paper windows were all stained. Furniture was sticky. The mini fridge, a/c, and bathroom were ancient and kept rattling and humming the entire night. There is no sink and mirror in the bathroom so you have to use the bar in front of the big window. The onsen at this place was also old and outdated. I understand the selling point of this place is that it's ancient, but...

"Very nice Ryokan in Kinosaki. We opted for the "Kaiseki" food option which was part of the room rate. What we got for 4 meals (2 dinners/2 breakfasts) was unbelievable!!! Delicious and fresh.
