We had a bit of trouble finding it , clean and cozy there was everything you need and a barbecue on the large deck where you could relax by the water and take in the nature.Susan and Wilson were very nice great little place to stay
We had a great stay over Christmas. The space was amazing and had everything you need. Winston was great and quick to respond to any messages. Will definitely stay again.
We enjoyed our stay. If you love antiques this is the place for you. Found the bed a little small as it was just a double. The hosts were friendly and made sure our stay was comfortable.

Winston and his wife were amazing host. The cottage was incredible, comfy warm and inviting. Enjoyed our stay. Thanks
This was such a lovely stay, Winston was such a wonderful host. The home is very quaint, clean and has all the basic amenities. There is a nice little river to kayak. Our family had a wonderful time and would come back again!

This property is a gem! The cabin is rustic and quiet. We loved sitting on the deck and watching the birds. The hosts are excellent!
We joked that the cabin should have been called bird sanctuary in the nook . Very peaceful and we observed many types of woodland and aquatic birds as well as beavers .
Lovely hosts on a lovely property. Cozy and comfortable for two, and if you share a bed it's also easy and convenient (there's a pull-out couch). Hope to return in finer weather, and for a bit longer, to enjoy the deck sometime!
It is a rustic cottage. Everything we needed was on site and the owner very friendly and helpful gave us advice on where to eat. There a nice covered deck and we enjoyed watching the birds eat at the feeder. Also, it's very convenient to the beautiful Highlands of Cape Breton.
Small cabin with everything you need. Owner took time to run through the cabin/amenities and was friendly. Beautiful view of the Brook which was fun to watch the ducks, beavers and geese! Pleased with our stay!
Nice little spot along the river outside Sydney. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The place was also convenient for our two dogs . Overall the place suited our needs . Thank you Winston !

Cabin had AC. A beautiful deck with a lake view. Deck had an awning on which you were able to watch ducks during the day and listen to bull frogs and watch beavers swim in the lake in the evening.
Staying while working in sydney- it has absolutely everything we need and the property is beautiful. Cozy and warm in the winter and the deck is so spacious with an awesome view which would make it so great in the summer as well. Winston and Susie made us feel so welcomed and added so many sweet touched. We felt very safe here and our dogs are also very comfortable. Easy drive to the hospital for nurses!! Can’t say enough and will stay again in the future!
Overall a good stay. Very homey feel. Good location not too far from town. We stayed during a very windy few days and it was drafty inside but still warm. So although I imagine that is not the norm, it would be something to consider if travelling with a baby during the winter months. Unit is attached to a garage that’s used by owner so the space is not 100% private if that’s a consideration for future guests. Winston and Susie are very nice people and have a well stocked unit.
We rented this property during the Celtic Colours festival. It was the perfect spot for accessing the festival venues around the Sydney area. We would have enjoyed the deck and propane fire pit more but the weather didn’t want to cooperate. Winston was a gracious and attentive host.
We needed a place to stay that was near Glace Bay for visiting family. This rustic little hideaway was perfect. The lake is peaceful, with plenty of wildlife. The bed was very cozy and everything you need is there for you. It's within 10 minutes to Glace Bay and near several beaches. We didn't get to experience the hospitality of the owner because he was away, which would have added a great personal touch to our experience. I suggest bringing food for the ducks. They are super cute!
There are some places you stay that you forget as soon as you leave and others you will remember for a long time. This falls into the latter. It's as described rustic and a life photo. There is a mix of decorations that to me were cool and interesting. WiFi was good, small galleon kitchen, didn't use but looked sufficient. The real winner here is being able to sit right on a river deck, ducks and geese everywhere, frogs playing the banjos, beavers swimming by (never seen a beaver in my life before) and woodpeckers constantly stopping at the feeder. Winston and Susan very helpful. This was a bargain price as well, should have stayed longer, we stayed as a base for Louisburg as very close
Hope to return soon

I have progressing mobility issues. The property is mainly one level, with two tiny steps to the bathroom and a tiny stop to the front door. Shower enclosure, no tub. Rustic, charming property on a small pond with ducks and other wildlife. Owner has done all the renovations to the property himself. The bathroom counter and kitchen counters are slightly raised, which I found very comfortable. Nicely furnished deck with BBQ, which overlooks the duck pond. Patio doors open onto the deck. Fully equipped kitchen. Comfortable bed. I will definitely stay there again.

Great little hideaway to unwind and relax. So many neat things to see in the unit. Can tell alot of character and care went into the design.
