The hotel is showing its age but was being upgraded. The location was great. Easily walkable to the harbour front and restaurants in the area. Our room overlooked the harbour - beautiful! Upon arrival there were 2 people at the check in desk - one was on the phone and the other was talking to a colleague about work. Once the colleague left, the check in clerk continued with work and we were left waiting without any acknowledgement. He seemed preoccupied. The lounge staff were welcoming and friendly. Beds were comfy. Hotel was quiet. Overall our staff was nice.

Great food. Nice indoor pool and water slide. (Hot tub out of order). Friendly staff. Picturesque location on the waterfront boardwalk.

One suggestion would be to leave more coffee pods in the room. One each is not enough. Also no creamers in the amenity package. Other than that the hotel was great.

L’hôtel est en rénovation mais présentement, une odeur de cigarette règne du moment qu’on passe la porte de l’établissement. Cette odeur devient encore plus présente dans la chambre. Lavabo de la salle de bain bouché. Rideau de dentelle déchiré. Air climatisé qui fait un bruit d’enfer. Tapis des couloirs très sales.

There aren't many hotel options in Sydney. This is a dated property that is undergoing some upgrades. Our kids enjoyed the pool and we had access to laundry machines which was convenient. We had a view of the harbour which was nice. There is no A/C and we were quite hot at night. We had issues with our toilet and needed to have looked at twice which was a bit frustrating. There is no breakfast included with your stay. We found the price was expensive for what you get but like I say choices are limited in the area.

Just back from a great stay at the Holiday Inn in Sydney. Breakfast included with our stay was excellent. Loved the entertainment in the lounge in the lobby. Very good, walkable location.

Room and hallway smelled terrible, carpets in the room and hallway looked like never shampoo vacuumed. Wall paper was falling off the wall in the bathroom revealing black mold.

The noise at night that lasted until 0:45 in the morning. Loud music that I could hear from the 7th floor. Surprise was we had to pay for our parking. Breakfast wasn"t included in the price of the room.

Comfy bed. Nice large space with great views of harbour. Staff were friendly. Room was a bit dated, but renovations are underway so I’m sure that’s in the plans to be addressed. Hall carpet definitely needs a refresh. It’s quite worn and dirty which always puts me off when I first check in to a place. Again, the ongoing renovations may address this issue.

Check in was quick and easy, staff were excellent. Parking was very limited. Hotel is under improvement so dated halls/rooms should be more modern soon. Great views of Bay from our upper floor room. Big festival kickoff at nearby Fiddle venue on our arrival so loud concert until midnight.

Food options near the hotel are really good and not too extravagantly priced. The bed and sleeping arrangements restored us and made mornings better. We had our own car so travel was easy. The desk staff were very helpful and accommodating. The room maintenance was not terrible, but could have been more thorough. Moreover, the hotel is being renovated and it’s a good thing: it needs it. However, you can look out onto a section of Sydney Harbour from any room. Aldo, between all the small boats (motor or sail) and the massive cruise ships that visit the harbour, we sat and watched, captivated. Plus, the surrounding communities brought different cultural events to the town including a massive car rally. The welcoming nature of Cape Breton folk is so charming , we couldn’t help but love their hospitality.
