From the kitchen you can walk through to the dining area which has a stunning  brass-topped table and  comfortable  chairs to seat 8 for formal dining. You may then like to  retire to the snug for a quiet game of scrabble of an evening. This part of the cottage dates back  to 1750 and is believed to have once, among other things, been  a wheelwright workshop and  the village butcher shop. Langton  Matravers, famous for its Purbeck stone mining of limestone and marble, is steeped in history and a trip to the local museum is a must during your stay.   
On the ground floor there is a further living room, complete with large screen smart TV including  a sky-Q package. This  delightful  room also enjoys a log burning stove, a perfect addition for those crisp winter's evenings. Why not snuggle up with a movie in front of the roaring fire? 
Via a relatively steep staircase, you will find the elegant master suite, complete with a fabulous  superking bed and an  ensuite shower room which is accessed via 3 steps. There is also a twin room on this floor; the perfect den for the younger members of your party. A  further 2  steps rise to a shower room with double enclosure. Finally, and via another  2  steps, you will find a king size room overlooking the sunny garden, church yard and Purbeck hills beyond.   
This fabulous holiday home is well placed within the heart of Purbeck for the keen walkers/cyclists among you.  The cottage is conveniently located for the  South West  coastal path from  where you can walk to the seaside town of Swanage, village of Studland and beyond.  A couple of miles in the other direction walk to Corfe Castle or Worth  Matravers - a stop off at The Square & Compass for a well-earned pasty and pint is a must! This pub is world renowned and you will see just why when you arrive!   
For family groups,  Putlake adventure farm is within walking distance of your cottage and will also keep you stocked with wood should you require it for the log burner! By car, the golden sands of Swanage can be reached in a matter of minutes, along with a plethora of shops, supermarkets, eateries, bars and more. There is even a mini seafront adventure park, not forgetting the traditional Punch & Judy shows throughout the summer months.  The National Trust's fabulous sandy beach at Studland is 15 minutes in the car.  You really will be spoilt for choice with so much to see and do, a  two week stay may well be needed!   
There is ample parking to be found immediately outside the cottage on the road or just opposite. There is also a village store for those  last minute essential supplies when you arrive, and the traditional Kings Arms pub just across the road if you don't fancy cooking.
