"CHANGE THE RUGS! The house needs non slip rugs/runners. The existing ones were dangerous how slippery they are on the hardwood floors. We had an adult fall and a baby fall because of the rugs. We removed them completely for the rest of the stay. The house was clean and had sufficient room / bathroom space. There was enough fringe equipment to entertain teens/kids. The house is private enough to have dogs use the driveway/yard. The wild horses will come right up to your vehicles and door to say hi. The deck is the real selling point, it makes the house feel like a family belongs there. The host was easy to contact and quick to reply. Easy check in process."
"The house is beautiful and laid out well. The upper floor is one large room that includes the kitchen, dining room, and living room (plus a half bath). It is on the second row but the lot in front of it is currently open so you get beautiful ocean views. And it is a short walk (or drive) to the beach. However, the beautiful porches hardly get used because the only furniture is cheap, uncomfortable plastic chairs and the roof provides no shelter from rain. The open areas of the floor were swept but it was filthy under the dining room table, end tables, and couches. One bathroom had no hand soap and another had 6 squares of TP left on the roll. The coffee maker uses cone filters, not basket style as listed in the description. Most of the dishes were disgustingly dirty in the cabinets and had to be washed before they could be used. When they say there are no pantry items, they mean it - there were four pepper shakers and an empty salt shaker. You have to buy everything else. I've stayed in many vacation rentals and never seen one so devoid of basics.More significantly, the water is mostly undrinkable. The quality of this house's water varies regularly - at its best it was very minerally and smelled of sulphur, but usually was so salty that it was like getting a glass directly from the ocean. Bring lots of drinking water - you're going to need it."

"Wow, what a great place to vacation, IF you like the beach, sand, wind. You have to have a 4 wd vehicle to get here. If you are into nightlife and restaurants don’t go here, they are 20-30 minutes away and you have to drive on the sand to get there. Greatest beach vacation we have ever had, 3 generations of family, plenty of room, great views, great surf fishing. Bring a tent or cover for the beach, bring a truck, have a great time. Bring lots of beer, water and food!!"

"This home was absolutely beautiful. The decor and colors are gorgeous. The access to the beach was great! We were expecting to maybe see horses once while we were there, but we saw them every single day from the house, many times right in the yard. The pool and hot tub were nice, as well as the outdoor shower. The decks are great for viewing the beach/ocean and the horses in the neighborhood. We can’t wait to go back!"
Spacious 4-bedroom house in beautiful 4x4 area of Corolla with ocean views!
10/10 Excellent
"My family and I had such a great stay at this home in the 4x4 section of Corolla. The house was roomy and the decks were a great place to relax. We enjoyed both walking and driving onto the beach. Seeing the wild horses was amazing too! The hosts were super friendly and communicated very efficiently. We highly recommend this property when visiting OBX."

"This VRBO stay is a must! The house is amazing. It was clean and offered all the comforts of home - the hosts did not miss a detail. The house is exactly as described in the listing, if not better. Excellent communication with hosts as well. We also appreciated the extra details that made our 4-legged family member feel just as welcome. This was our first time experiencing the 4x4 beach with wild horses, and it did not disappoint. You will see the horse roaming freely throughout the area and on the beach. We watched 4 to 5 horses graze peacefully almost every morning from the back deck. We really enjoyed driving out to the beach and setting up for the day. With the house within walking distance, we could walk back and forth as needed. It rained on two afternoons, but with the amazing, expansive deck and screened porches, we were able to enjoy the outside and feel the cool ocean breeze. AMAZING. We ventured into town on one of the days, which offers cute shops and good restaurants. History buffs will love the museums Corolla has to offer. We even climbed to the top of the lighthouse, which offered breathtaking views of the entire area. As the hosts state, you must have a 4-wheel drive vehicle to navigate the sand. This was not a problem for us, but we did see several vehicles being towed out of the sand. The road literally ends, dumping you right onto the beach. It was so much fun. We'd definitely book this house again!"
