"An appropriately named family memory maker!This property has so much to offer its guests and sits just one block away from the beach. Since we were 4x4 newbies, we spent the first part of the week lugging beach chairs over the nearby sand dunes. We quickly learned our lesson and realized driving right onto the beach was definitely the best way to go!The home easily and comfortably accommodated all 18 of our family members. We made sure to take full advantage of every amenity, especially the pool, hot tub, and movie room. Plus, getting to see wild Spanish horses daily was an incredibly cool bonus. Highly recommend!"

"Wow, what a great place to vacation, IF you like the beach, sand, wind. You have to have a 4 wd vehicle to get here. If you are into nightlife and restaurants don’t go here, they are 20-30 minutes away and you have to drive on the sand to get there. Greatest beach vacation we have ever had, 3 generations of family, plenty of room, great views, great surf fishing. Bring a tent or cover for the beach, bring a truck, have a great time. Bring lots of beer, water and food!!"

"This home was absolutely beautiful. The decor and colors are gorgeous. The access to the beach was great! We were expecting to maybe see horses once while we were there, but we saw them every single day from the house, many times right in the yard. The pool and hot tub were nice, as well as the outdoor shower. The decks are great for viewing the beach/ocean and the horses in the neighborhood. We can’t wait to go back!"

"We loved the location and will definitely visit again! Host was responsive when we had a couple questions and everything was overall perfect!! Views could not be better and we had horses around the house several times a day. Loved that we could leave our shoes at home and walk to the beach through the sand for sunset or sunrise. Looking forward to the next time!!"

"This VRBO stay is a must! The house is amazing. It was clean and offered all the comforts of home - the hosts did not miss a detail. The house is exactly as described in the listing, if not better. Excellent communication with hosts as well. We also appreciated the extra details that made our 4-legged family member feel just as welcome.This was our first time experiencing the 4x4 beach with wild horses, and it did not disappoint. You will see the horse roaming freely throughout the area and on the beach. We watched 4 to 5 horses graze peacefully almost every morning from the back deck. We really enjoyed driving out to the beach and setting up for the day. With the house within walking distance, we could walk back and forth as needed. It rained on two afternoons, but with the amazing, expansive deck and screened porches, we were able to enjoy the outside and feel the cool ocean breeze. AMAZING. We ventured into town on one of the days, which offers cute shops and good restaurants. History buffs will love the museums Corolla has to offer. We even climbed to the top of the lighthouse, which offered breathtaking views of the entire area. As the hosts state, you must have a 4-wheel drive vehicle to navigate the sand. This was not a problem for us, but we did see several vehicles being towed out of the sand. The road literally ends, dumping you right onto the beach. It was so much fun. We'd definitely book this house again!"

"If you’re looking for a unique Outer Banks experience, Piper’s Nest on Corolla’s 4x4 beach is the perfect place to stay. The house is about seven miles down the beach, and while I was nervous about driving on the sand at first, airing our tires down made it easy. True Four-wheel drive is recommended, but my daughter’s 4x4 Jeep Cherokee handled it just fine. Best of all, we saw wild horses almost every single day, making this beautiful, uncrowded area feel truly magical.The house was clean, comfortable, and fully stocked with everything we needed, including beach chairs, canopies, and boogie boards. The beach was just a two-minute drive away, making it easy to run back and forth with our young kids whenever we needed to. We just threw everything in the back of the truck and drove down. It was truly an awesome beach experience. Tracey and Gerry were fantastic hosts—friendly, attentive, and quick to respond to any questions. Between the incredible home, the pristine beaches, and the unforgettable wild horses, Piper’s Nest is a true hidden treasure. We made amazing family memories and can’t wait to come back!"
