「The rooms were not able to lock when we got there but it was secure」

「We’ve been staying at Grant Hills for years. The rooms aren’t fancy, though are very clean and comfortable. We like the option to bring our pups with if we choose. The cost of a two night stay is many times less than one night in other Galena hotels. It’s always very quiet and there is a walking path not far away. 」

「Good scenic viewpoints closeby」

「A very budget motel with some units rented as apartments. I woke many times when the old refrigerator kicked in. It was a load death rattle to be sure. Also, late night activity in the parking lot until midnight. I looked out to see somebody in a pickup truck unloading furniture outside of a nearby room. Crazy. Not the best place to get a restful nights sleep.」

「The chairs in the room are terribly uncomfortable to sit on (similar to a wooden bench). Also, they have soap and shampoo dispensers but the hotel never filled them and the TP was of the lowest quality.」

「Rooms have an older look to them, but well kept. I’d say my only criticism of the room was the showerheads in the bathroom. Definitely seen years of the hard water, suggest getting some new ones, nothin’ fancy. They were still functional nonetheless.」

「Place was under heavy construction and should of been shut down,non licensed workers performing the remodeling work and making a big mess,dont stay here to save a few bucks」

「You can't beat this location if you want to wander around Galena and the riverfront! Everything felt clean, safe and we had everything we needed, if in a bit of strange and old-world set up! This is an old building with lots of "charm", but as long as you are prepared for that you'll have a lovely stay. 」
