lots of nice hiking trails nearby
Stayed here with me and my dog to do some kiking at Stockton State park. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. There is even a trail by end of driveway. Really enjoyed my stay. The other cabin is close by so would make a great place for a family get together. Would highly recommend.

Cozy Hideaway Perfection
This is the second time I have stayed at Chinkapin Cottage and it was another wonderful visit! Our host, Matt, really thinks of everything and manages the property very well considering it is in a heavily wooded area. With the temps plummeting, the house stayed very well insulated and cozy warm! My daughter and I love being so close to the walking trails at Crabtree Cove which are very easily accessible. The town of Stockton is small but charming - make sure to stop by Hammons Emporium for a strong espresso and boutique shopping. Plus, a visit to the very witchy Paper Moon shop will set you up for good vibes your whole stay! We cannot recommend Chinkapin Cottage enough and hopefully will be back soon!

Great place to stay
The cottage was wonderful. Secluded and very quiet. Easy access to the boat ramp and a short distance to the grocery store. The amenities in the cottage are top notch. We brought items with us that we never used because they were already at the cottage. We will definitely be back to stay here again. The cottage was the cleanest place we have ever stayed at and the host was very nice and accommodating.
