"Although the decor and building felt a bit dated - lots of dark wood and patterned carpets - it was very clean and the staff were brilliantly friendly - remembering our names to greet us in the morning. The breakfast was straightforward and tasty and arrived quickly - loved the fact that there was cake on the breakfast buffet! It was quiet at night too. Had to air the room as there was condensation on the inside of the sash windows but wondered if that was because it wasn't possible to double-glaze them. It was plenty warm enough in chilly March and had a lovely warm shower and big fluffy towels. The room itself didn't have a lot of space for storage, just a small slightly musty cupboard which we didn't use in the end. It would have been nice to have some herbal tea and biscuits in the room. I think it's generally quite expensive to stay in the lakes as this was more than we would normally pay to stay but the location was excellent for walking and Ambleside itself. "

"We had the most wonderful stay at Ambleside Townhouse. We stayed for 5 nights in the family room as it was the last room they had when booking. We were glad as it was a beautiful spacious room with two beds. We only used one which was a superking and very comfortable. The staff were lovely and even though we didn’t really need much they were always there to answer anything with a friendly reply. The breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. I cannot fault this place and would definitely recommend. We will definitely be back when next visiting the Lakes, thank you."

"The room was lovely and the hosts very friendly and helpful. Parking is not at the property but at a car park down the road in a safe private enclosure. The breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty. The guest house is in the centre of Ambleside and would recommend."

"We stayed in the ‘Windermere rooms at the Wateredge Inn’ as a last minute break with our pet. In our opinion the short stay ticked every box from arrival to departure. The staff were all friendly and polite. The Inn is at the edge of the lake with plenty of seating both inside and outside looking out onto the lake. Parking spaces were plentiful on arrival and offered many more spaces than others we had looked at. We dined at the Inn with our pet and food portions were adequate and met our expectations. There is a very good selection of rooms (especially if you don’t have a pet), our room was a pet friendly and was very clean and appliances were all in good condition. We will stop here again and would definitely recommend to others looking for a place to stay in this area. Thank you to the staff and management for making our experience a good one."
