2/10 Terrible

"I chose this hotel based on the pictures, description and reviews I saw thinking it was a nice small boutique hotel but I was totally wrong. To say the room was the worst I’ve ever stayed in is an understatement, very dated and shabby with wood chip paper but one wall was simply plywood boards. The bathroom hadn’t changed since around 1979 and the shower produced a dibble of water! Nice greeting and decent location etc but extremely poor all round, will not be back and not sure my wife will ever forgive me!"

"We arrived early and decided to try the dining facilities. We were pleasantly surprised at the options and pricing. When the courses arrived the standard was excellent. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed with ensuite facilities, coffee machine with small fridge and milk as well as bottled water. The bed was very comfy. Breakfast had many options. From toast, cereals, croissants, Danish-style pastries to the obligatory full English. Which again was fantastic. We took our coffee into the "Arts & Crafts" styled lounge where comfy sofas and Sunday papers were available. Parking was plentiful and close to the reception. The staff were pleasant and attentive. We were lucky to have the weather to sit in the garden. Overall, a very pleasant stay. Thank you"

"Enjoyed our stay in a garden room. Although the gardens aren’t totally finished it’s nice to see the progress being made and on a sunny day it’s nice to have direct access. Fantastic meal in the kitchen restaurant. We had dined in prevost on previous occasions but the standard of dishes in the other restaurant was great. Friendly reception when we arrived. Breakfast is fantastic. If you are looking for a night or two to relax in a pretty and period setting then this hotel is recommended."

"We had a most pleasant and relaxing break in our journey home. A most well run hotel, very cheerful and professional, very friendly and thoughtful with some nice touches like a saucer for tea bags and a sausages for our dog at breakfast. I heartily recommend this hotel and think that we may well visit again just explore the local area."

"Wow what a beautiful property.Spotless inside and outside,comfy beds with top quality linen.Very well equipped.Outside area's are amazing, hot tub was lovely, games room was fun and the bar area was fun.Everything went so smoothly host was not contacted, but always quick to respond on questions for the booking.Welcome pack was so thoughtful and all best quality.11 ladies Celebrated my sisters 60th birthday and everyone was amazed on my find so well done me.We are wished we could of stayed longer.Definitely will return."
