Balone Garden Cottage | Wood Burner

The Balone Garden Cottage is a luxury retreat with spectacular views over the St Andrews countryside and a wood burning stove. The cottage has been finished to the highest standard and comfortable sleeps 2 in a double bedroom with access to the patio via the French doors. The open-plan kitchen lounge is peaceful whether the bifold doors are open to the fresh air or cosy with the wood burner. Property features a Dyson Purifier which purifies, humidifies and cools the bedroom in the cottage. The property has it's own entrance on the ground floor and free parking for one car at the end of the driveway. The accommodation layouts are as follows:Ground Floor - 1 double bedroom with luxury mattress and with full wardrobe. Perfect for guests with mobility requirements. The bathroom has a large walk in shower with a Lusso hand wash basin, a wall hung WC and a delightful Spanish caustic tile floor. Whilst there is no garden available with the cottage, there is an enclosed patio garden via the French doors in the bedroom or via the bifold doors in the lounge. The kitchen has a dishwasher, a fridge, a Smeg ceramic 2 ring hob, and a high spec oven/microwave. There is no washing machine available for guest use. In the lounge, there is a small dining table with a Smart TV and logs are provided for the wood burner.

Short Stay in St. Andrew’s

This is an absolutely beautiful property. We stayed for two days during a quick visit to Scotland. The property is exactly as advertised, in a beautiful location. It’s very peaceful and the perfect place for a short rest.

The Garden Cottage

The Garden Cottage was everything we could have wished for on our weekend visit. Impeccably clean, stylishly designed, thoughtfully filled with exactly what we needed to feel like a ‘home from home’. Local advice of where to visit and where to eat was spot on and we cannot recommend the cottage enough. Pure perfection!

Fabulous stay in a beautiful and serene setting

My wife and I absolutely loved spending the day reading and relaxing by the wood stove looking out over the fields, watching sunrises together. The check in process was easy, and everything was clean and extremely well maintained. The bed was fantastic to sleep on. We loved it so much we booked an extra night! It's a short drive to St. Andrews and a number of farm shops and other small towns. Well worth the stay!

Stunning views, but make sure you get good directions!

This place is a stunner. The views of St. Andrews are out of this world from this little cottage. The owners did a spectacular job of putting this place together and decorating it. It's all very new and fresh and modern. The door was a little weird to figure out at first, but once we did, all went well. Bed was comfortable, but I think it's a stretch to call it a king size... at least by American standards. However, it was very comfortable. The only thing I would say is if you're older, you may have trouble with the bed and possibly the couch - they're both low to the ground, especially the bed. It's not on a frame, so you're right on the ground. An older person would really struggle to get in and out of it, I think. But it was comfortable, plenty of closet storage in the bedroom. Views - again - wonderful.As for finding the cottage? Well, that was fun. We actually ended up on the cart path of the golf course across the street - yes, on the actual cart path - before we realized the navigation system didn't really know where to go. So it would be a little more helpful to maybe add a pin to the directions or some other kind of way to find the cottage using a car's nav system. The link in the welcome email is correct, but getting that into a rental car's nav is the sticky part. Don't put in Balone Garden Cottage or Mount Melville in a car's nav because you WILL end up in the middle of a golf course!
