「2 families stayed whilst visiting Alton Towers. We couldn’t have stayed any closer, The Old Barn literally on the doorstep. The property have a very homely feel which made relaxing easy. 「Hotels.com with the hotel have some payment issue. When I check in the hotel front desk staff said that i need to pay for this trip, however, I already fully paid when i booked the hotel. After check and clarified she confirmed already received my payment. And I called to Hotel.com the staff request me to pay again for the hotel and refund my previous payment with Hotel.com due to some payment issue between Hotel.com and the Hotel. But is it the issue of customer why i have to do that.

「The staff and the breakfast were amazing however the rooms have no shampoo (body wash is not going to do it for me), no lotion, no tissues and no phone. No phone makes it extremely difficult for overseas visitors to contact reception. Even the charming lady on reception who confirmed that these amenities were not offered in the hotel states that they were a budget hotel ‘but maybe not - we are quite expensive’. 」

The only negative was that we hadn’t realised that bathroom would be downstairs, which resulted in the kids being a bit anxious about going on their own, as it’s a shared house and they weren’t comfortable wandering around the house on their own with strangers. Not a problem for the adults, but the kids weren’t comfortable. 」
「Wonderful cottage, a perfect size for our family of 4. The accommodation is on a working farm but was quiet throughout with lovely gardens. Alton Towers was a short drive away as well as sports for hiking / nature. 」
